He's intriguing. I am hoping we hang on to him, he might turn out to be a pretty good player.

I scratched my head over this pick at the time. I guess most of us do, since we never hear much of these Euro players, and they seem to not work out most of the time.

But, the Cavs were in position to take one of these "project" guys with potential to be pretty good down the line. He could end up being a steal. And when we don't have high draft picks, you sometimes got to get creative like this.

But, he could just be another Eyenga too. Eyenga was just an athlete though, this guy looks like he has some actual skills, just not fully developed yet.

I'd like to hang onto him too. At this point though I think he's most likely to be used as incentive attached with the Haywood or Miller TPE in a potential trade. Even if we don't have to make the trade in the season, I could see it being a draft-day type of deal next year, especially if TT for some reason takes the QO and does try and bounce next year.

FYI, He no longer appears as a roster member on cavs.com.. while sir'dominic is. I guess that means something..

It probably means that the Cavs know Osman will not be coming over to the USA for a couple years. Conversely, Pointer will likely get an invite to our training camp roster of 20 guys.

Exactly, he's not on the Cavalier roster. I don't think his contract ends till 2017?

He's just 20 years old, hopefully in a few years he'll be ready to play in the NBA and can come over.

He definitely needs to work on his shot. I think that's the one glaring weakness that comes to mind right now.

Why does he have to be a trade chip? People do realize that eventually we are going to have to replenish our roster. If he's good we should try to keep him and not trade him away for a veteran stop-gap.

Teams like the Cavs should use all the lower draft picks to take as many guys like Osman as possible. You delay having to bring them to your team and have some potential high upside talents being trained by someone else. They also remain tradeable assets for years after the draft. With someone like Pointer he has to be held on your roster where there is little chance to play him. If he isn't ready now, but might be in 3 years, he is virtually useless to you.

Cavs are actually doubt it with kaun right now, although much later than normal. Draft rights are great in trades as well

He was incredibly boring to watch.

Like Cleveland Indians boring.

Are you referring to my main man, Cheddy Cheese? The Scourge of Macedonia? The Condor of the Carpathians? The Byzantine Bomber?

Well, the Carpathians are a bit of a reach, since I don't think they are particularly close to Macedonia. The Byzantine Bomber has a nice ring to it, since Macedonia and Istanbul were both once part of the Byzantine Empire, though I suppose an ethnic Bosnian-Turk like Osman wouldn't favor that nickname.
