I wish the Cavs would have tried to get him. I think with Cedi and the fact that the 76ers declined his option last year, we would have had a real good shot at signing him.
Well, we just drafted Windler. Is Korkmaz better than Windler at anything?

I don't think drafting Windler should preclude the Cavs from signing someone like Korkmaz. Both have good potential and it's a shooters league. It's not like Korkmaz got anything more than the minimum. At the very least if Korkmaz played well and we had too many wings, he would be a tradable asset.
We don't have that many wings on the team currently, adding one wasn't going to hurt anyone's playing time.
I count 5 players who are clearly going to play non-negligible minutes at SG/SF: Cedi, Windler, KPJ, Delly, and Clarkson. Then you can add a 6th, Sexton, if we do indeed experiment with a Garland/Sexton backcourt. That's a lot of guys to squeeze into the rotation; if you split the available minutes equally, you're looking at 15-20 minutes for each of Cedi/Windler/KPJ/Delly/Clarkson. Given that, I don't understand why you'd add another guy who doesn't bring anything new to the table.
Moreover, Kormaz is quite clear about the roster as well. If he is going to play on a crowded team, he probably thinks a title contender is better than a lottery team.
Makes sense. Honestly, though, I think he would've done well to sign in Europe where he could be more than just a shooting specialist and really work on expanding his game. 76ers are clearly going to prioritize the development of Zhaire and Thybulle over him.

I think with the lack of PF depth that the Cavs have, Cedi will be asked again to play small ball PF at times. I also think Clarkson will eventually get traded and if the right deal comes along they will trade Delly. At this point Delly is more of a mentor to the young guards than anything and if the coaching staff is doing a better job than last year, he wouldn't be needed as much. I could definitely see if him being moved as an expiring contract and we resign him next summer to a smaller deal.
I agree that the Garland and Sexton backcourt will take some minutes available to the wings but of the positions the Cavs have needs for currently, it's a stretch 4 and I think another wing would be next on that list. The league is moving toward playing alot of wings at SG, SF, and PF which would be the reason why I'd look for a 6'7 like Korkmaz even though he needs to get stronger as an NBA player.
For me, it would be picking Korkmaz over Sindarius Thornwell. I really don't see where Thronwell fits into this roster. At least with Korkmaz he could be right there competing with KPJ and Windler, maybe securing his spot as a rotation wing long term for us. I think Cedi, Windler, KPJ, and Korkmaz could be a versatile enough group you could move forward with and they could all have their role in the rotation.
Looks like Kevin Love's rebounding skills are starting to rub off on Cedi.

I would like us to trade Clarkson. It seems like he has reached his ceiling as a basketball player and would just limit the number of minutes we have to try out and develop our young players. His play style -- sort of a poor man's Ricky Davis -- is also not a great example to younger guys, although I'm sure he's a fine person and all.
When does he play again?
