#Browns players not expected to practice today:
G Wyatt Teller (calf)
S Andrew Sendejo (shin)
LB Jacob Phillips (knee)

Any word on how close, if at all, Teller is to returning?

At this point, with the Vikings mailing it in, it would almost be a disappointment if we don't come away with Anthony Harris at the deadline.

We are in desperate need for safety help and leadership on that defense.

Ravens always making moves. That defense is nasty already and they're adding to it.

This is so fucking unfair. This kid actually said he wanted to play for the Browns during the off-season too. Wanted to play with Myles. But there's no such thing as happiness, so... we’ll watch him smash our midget QB on the Ravens instead. While Olivier Vernon will be sitting out inactive because his pussy hurt.

29 years old and a free agent at the end of the year. Plus it would take 2-3 weeks for him to get up to speed, so you'd really be trading for a guy to potentially play half of one season in a year where you're clearly not a Super Bowl contender.

Not expecting the Browns to be too interested unless the price is very cheap.

Nick Wright is correct. We got our teeth kicked in by teams in our division, so it looks and feels alot worse. I just want a playoff berth. IDC how we get there.

As for defense, Baltimore is building a monster, but I would bet everything against Lamar Jackson in the playoffs. If we could somehow pickup a decent safety (Reid), Greedy comes back, Delpit comes back, and just draft defense. We can be scary in time to....but we need to draft dogs, fighters, and guys who wanna hit people in the mouth.

I’d imagine you could give him a defensive playbook and 2 days and he’d be better than Sendejo.

Even if the cost is moderate.....if we truly want to make the playoffs and have any chance to win a game, we need better play at that position.

The reality of the situation is we might have to play one of those teams in our division in the 1st round if we make the playoffs.

As for Harris, as long as the cost isn't too high I'd be interested. We might make the playoffs, but we'll get absolutely roasted by any of the top seeds with our secondary as is. I'd like to go into the playoffs feeling like we have a punchers chance to win a game and not simply wondering how bad we're going to get crushed.

We've seen why depth is needed in the secondary. I don't really care that Harris is 29 and will be a free agent. If he performs, we'll sign him. We can't afford to rely on young, completely unproven guys that haven't been able to stay healthy. At worst we find ourselves in a situation where we need to trade a safety next year. Otherwise, we just become deep at a position we're currently awful at.

Agreed. I'd rather sign him for next year. We should be able to outbid Baltimore and if he really wants to play here, we should get him at a reasonable price.
