Well Chubb is hurt and when he comes back he'll be coming off of an injury. Who do you think opposing teams are scheming against every week? It was OBJ. I don't think teams were scheming against Chubb. They schemed against OBJ though. There's nobody on offense that defenses are going to fear now with OBJ gone. That's going to make it harder on the other guys.

This is interesting. I really have no clue how it'll play out.

I'm not opposed to adding more talent, I just don't think this offense is necessarily in critical condition without OBJ. I also think DPJ could be special - he was (IIRC) the highest rated WR in the country before going to Michigan and playing with terrible QBs.

Look at this blessing

Yeah, we need to add a WR and some bum off the PS aint it. Not sure if Texans would move off Fuller or Cooks, but that would bring a nice speed element we're missing. Perriman or Crowder if the Jets want to continue tanking would be nice. Ross is worth a flier for a late round pick, IMO. AJ Green would be nice but do they trade him to us? Ross is one thing but Green was the face of the franchise for a decade.

Now is the perfect time to add someone. One game left prior to the bye week. Plenty of time to be brought in, get caught up to speed on the playbook, and be ready to go come week 10.

It's been mentioned by others but this game against the Raiders is fucking MASSIVE. Probably the biggest in 13 years from a postseason standpoint. Let's just assume Chiefs, Steelers/Ravens, Bills, and Titans are division winners. That would leave the runner up of the Steelers/Ravens as WC #1. This leaves two spots left and would give the Browns tiebreakers over the Raiders and Colts who are their direct competition for one of those two spots. Dolphins may be 3-3 but they're about to be starting a rookie QB and their ceiling is probably 8-8. Chargers, Broncos, Bengals, Texans, Jags, Jets are all 2-4 or worse. Don't see an 8-2 or 7-3 finish out of any of them. The only 2-4 team that worries me in the least is the Patriots and that's mainly just because it's Belichek. Looking back, it really sucks the Raiders won those games against the Saints and Chiefs. Those are the kind of games we need the Raiders and Colts to lose.

I'm trying to keep things in perspective with DPJ. he's has a couple inactives this season and was really eased onto the field in special teams. He was a late round pick. It's fair to expect him to step in and make a few plays but that's entirely different than asking him to fill a large role as a #3 WR right now.

I would probably rate Brandin Cooks as my number one target for a few reasons.

He can still play
Played with our current WR coach before when they were both in NE
His contract has an out in 2021 so it doesn't have t be a long term investment
Texans are obvious sellers and need draft capital
His speed dynamic is what we desperately need right now
Browns have had a lot of history making deals with the Texans
Texans are on their bye week right now and our bye week is next week. That gives Cooks 2 weeks to get acclimated.
