Then I'd have to look Baker straight in the eyes at contract time and say:

But this is my point, the players can still do exactly what the Ravens did last year. They can strike under the guise of player safety. The players association would absolutely 100% have the players back in this. Within the argument of "you didnt provide a safe working condition" do we really think the NFL is going to want to get involved in that court argument. Absolutely fucking not, because they are going to lose every day of the week especially after the shenanigans of yesterday. Meaning the players will still get paid.

Basically the players threatening to not play this game is going to hurt the owners/NFL a hell of a lot more than the players.

I suspect the league would simply say "then that's a forfeit", and likely already have communicated that to the Browns. The battle would then be between the Browns franchise and the players as to whether or not they get paid. No skin off the league's butt.

Any court action would be for damages after the season is over.

However the Browns would not be playing because the NFL is providing an unsafe working condition, not the Browns franchise. Being as the president of the Players Association is a Cleveland Browns player I imagine the Players association is going after the NFL almost immediately.

They really just need to let healthy (positive asymptomatic) players play or shut it all down. These measures arent doing anything to prevent the spread of covid.

Its either safe to play football or it isnt.

Am I missing anything? A move to Monday doesn't do a whole lot for us if these are legit positive cases. I can't imagine there's a dozen false positives here.

We might only get a few players back, but every little bit helps. Plus it at the very least gives us a few days to (hopefully) see if we managed to stop the bleeding and can go a day or two without additional positive tests.

Wouldn't the Raiders want to push the game back too until Cleveland had their situation under control? I wouldn't want my players to go against a team that has had numerous positive tests the entire week leading up to the game, including some literally the day before. Seems like a good way for their locker room to catch COVID.
