This really isn't a good comparison at all.First 19 starts played 53% completion rate, 3,217 yards, 11 TDs to 21 INTs,
First 21 starts played 60% completion rate, 4,924 yards, 25 TDs to 22 INTs
First 26 games as a QB 53% completion rate, 4,261 yards, 25 TDs to 29 INTs
Edit: Not sure why, but my spoiler part isn't showing up for me lol

Tampa bay was train wreck and young backed up Montana for 3 or 4 years. and even then he had to compete with Steve Bono.
so if your saying Oswieler should sit behind a great quarterback until he is 30. then I am all for that.
Bill Walsh liked what he saw out of Young and that is why he traded for him.
The Browns traded for Osweiler to get picks.
Furthermore no one in Cleveland gives a damn about what John Elway has to say.
My biggest point is the fact that a players talent may not show until he is in the right situation for him. If Young stayed in Tampa, I doubt he would have turned into anything at all. Also Houston is more of a train wreck than Cleveland is right and this year will prove it. He would have been fired if he was a coach in our Division since there is no way he could have competed and won against Bengals, Steelers and Ravens the last few seasons. If you watch the interaction between Osweiler and the head coach in Houston, it was bad blood between them which tells me the FO decided on Osweiler while the coach didn't or O'Brien just like to get in fights with his QBs since he has had a verbal fight with all of them that he has had starting for the most part.
No offense Osweiler was better than Steve Young in his first two years playing.
Id like to point out that Young was a much better prospect than Brock could have ever dreamed of being. Young was an incredible QB at BYU and Brock was kind of just a guy at ASU. Young had at least shown elite production at a certain level, Brock has never shown a hint of good production.
To save time I limited it to picks #52 or higher. (Kizer's slot). Osweiler is also not on the list nor any other 2nd rounder. They have all sucked, regardless of whether or not they started as rookies.Did not see Garippolo in this..
True, not going to dispute that one bit, but when you are in the wrong situation, no matter how talented you, are going to fail. I want to see Osweiler in a much better situation before I actually say if he is terrible since Houston was just a very bad place for him.

Small hands.
Like a carnie.
Cant believe I have to mention this but, typically the right situation for a QB is a dominate defense aand good recieving core.
He had that in both Denver and Houston. If those were not the right situation for Brock, not sure where would be.
Steve Young played on a historically bad Tampa Team. Its why I dont think Tim Couch was as bad as many claim, he could have a Steve Young "light" type turn around if he had the opportunity to go to a winner.
PS, I also use the Steve Young example to show hoe over rated Montana is. Sure he is a great qb, but all time great? No way, in that system with that talent lots of QB's could of won including Steve Young.
