Cleveland Indians 2018-2019 Offseason Outlook

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Hunter Renfroe
Adrian Morejon/Logan Allen
Chris Paddack
Kirby Yates

Feel like that's an acceptable package. Allen and Paddack are excellent prospects, Renfroe steps right into the lineup. Yates helps the pen in the short term.

Its a bet on Renfroe, but I'd definitely consider it.

That seems like a deal where they are settling, IMO.

Guess it depends what you think of Renfroe

- Top 50 prospect prior to his rookie season in 2017
- Team control until 2024
- 17th ranked in the majors for isolated power last year despite playing half his games at Petco
- Increased walks while decreasing K's in year 2

Needs to play in more than 120 games to be the valuable player we need, but he could easily be a 70+ XBH guy for us across a full season.

Bringing everybody back is settling.

Not necessarily. You're just holding your top trade chip(s) until someone meets your asking price. The Indians don't have to deal Kluber or Bauer, it's just one option.

I agree with that. I like Renfroe and think he's a good player, but he has contact issues and his OBP projects to be an issue. He does have 70-grade power, so that's a huge plus.

Is he, a good RP, and some prospects good enough for Kluber though?

I need more than him as the best ML-ready piece for a legitimate ace locked up for several more years.

The prospects @AZ_ listed are pretty damn good. Paddack and Allen will likely pitch in the majors this year although I'm not sure how much upside Allen has. Morejon is a little further off, but has been a top 100 guy.

Paddack IMO could be their best pitching prospect.

Not sure where to put this, but I was sent a survey today that was interesting. It appears the Indians are considering the right field terraces into "a flexible space for private gatherings." Private terrace spaces would be rented out by groups on a game-by-game basis.

If he gets a 3rd pitch, he could be really damn good. Not many MLB starters getting by on fastball/change.

Anything would be better than what it currently is.... which is what, a fucking trailer park? Looks absolutely NOTHING like the original renderings.

From what the survey asked it seems like it'd be a group "cabana" rental with All-You-Can eat food. Tickets seemed to start around $60.

Woof.

Not a good sign for some vets who are most likely looking at 1 year deals like Adam Jones or Carlos Gonzalez.

Good for the Indians though since this really says the market is in the team's favors and not the players.

Markakis getting $6m and Asdrubal Cabrera getting $3.5m gives me some hope the Indians can grab an above average bat or two at a decent price.
