This is it boys...the mecca the big'n. Up to this point this is the biggest series of the year, it would be the biggest but they hookup in another series at the Jake to finish off the season. We are 3.5 out a sweep would leave us .5 behind. If we can take say 4 of 6 from them I'm saying we will win the division. If we split I think we can maybe squeak in for the wildcard depending on how the Yankees do after getting a reality check in Toronto today.

Prediction Game 1
Tribe 6 Sox 4

I'm optimistic, However Garcia is a sinker ball pitcher..

The four players I worry about against Garcia tomorrow are the following:

Boone- sinkers away (everytime)

Hafner- sinkers inside (when struggling, which he has been)

Blake- sinkers anywhere (struggles with sinker ball pitchers all the time)

Martinez- sinkers anywhere (same as Blake)

this is the series that shows how much our guys want it.

ill be tuning into every second of it.

these guys cant hit, and our pitching has been very solid-in all aspects.

all we need to do is continue to get the same quality pitching and we should win the series. we are playing very good ball and they are not.

belliard should be back as well. no more hernadez.

ESPN.com has an article about Lee for the Cy Young, but it is an INsider article, can somebody post it for me ?

It's not much a mac. It's just from olney's blog

Bartolo Colon leads the AL with 19 victories, but he ranks seventh in ERA (3.45) and seventh in strikeouts (145); as of today, he'd be my pick.

But another candidate has come into the conversation because of what he's accomplished over the last two months. This pitcher is 8-0 since the All-Star break, with just 16 walks in 78.2 innings; hitters have batted .233 against him. In September, he is 3-0 with a 2.57 ERA. He's gotten hot at precisely the right time: Cliff Lee of the Indians.

His overall numbers are not overwhelming -- particularly his 3.75 ERA. If Cleveland actually finds a way to beat the White Sox this week and next, however, and makes up the last four games of a deficit that was once 15 games, then Lee will probably finish the second half with a 10-0 record. And he'll be right in the mix, in a year when there are no elite candidates in the AL.

The Royals are a truly bad team, and all credit goes to the Indians for doing what the White Sox could not in exploiting this weakness. Lee, by the way, would cast his vote for Colon.

Hafner nearly homers Grady is a burner scores from 1st 1-0 Tribe

I know most of us can see it but some people cant and Its for those who want to know..

5-4 in the bottom of the 8th, lead off double for the Sox..

Howry comes in after giving up a lead off double, gets a foul pop out, a grounder to Peralta who made a great play, and a pop out to Vazquez.

To the ninth..

Pronk hits a double and Peralta beats the tag, 7-5 Indians.

Wick is coming in for the save in the bottom of the ninth.

thank you hafner for getting another run. wickman allways makes me shit my pants and this game will be no different. that extra run was huge.

Wicky get's it done, Tribe wins.
