Cleveland winter 2023

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It figures - the year that my wife and I decide to snowbird it down South is the year that there’s almost no snow to snowbird from.

But it also means the weather down south is better than usual. I'm with you on this. I've been spending February in warmer climes since I retired, makes the winter seem shorter.

Buffalo, three hours east has had record high snowfalls. Snow amounts always vary tremendously along the lake. The temperatures have been nice, though. The ice free lake means a good chance of March snows. I always get a kick when Cleveland talks about snowfree winters while many of the surrounding counties still get buried.

That's true but even in the areas where they typically get buried, it's not happening like it used to. Chardon gets the most snowfall in the state of Ohio.

18-19: 69"
19-20: 75"
20-21: 95"
21-22: 89"
22-23 (through January): 39"

Chardon's average snow accumulation dating back to 1952-53 is 107". We are headed for our 5th straight year significantly below the average snowfall.
