The Washington Football Club believes that the NFL has a market inefficiency that values current picks too highly in comparison to future picks. We are exploiting this inefficiency and just received a first, second, and third round pick in order to move down four spots.

I'd also like to point out that if the team had listened to me last year instead of pushing me to the side like Haslam did to DePodesta every year, this franchise would be in much better shape AND we likely would've spared AJ Green's toe last season.

Proper value when that pick is a franchise QB. ;)

Yep. I don't hate it from the Chargers' standpoint either. If Tua turns out to be the #1 overall guy that some thought he'd be, it's a great, aggressive move. That defense, if they stay healthy, is scary. Give them a QB and they can contend for the playoffs immediately.

But, if Tua's health becomes an issue, or he just busts, all those picks can suddenly be really high draft selections.

It could also turn out like the Rams-Redskins trade for RGIII.

Which included these players going to the Rams for RGIII....

Greg Robinson
Zac Stacy
Stedman Bailey
Alec Ogletree
Rokevious Watkins
Isiah Pead
Michael Brockers

I mean... yikes. Both teams lose.

Just goes to show how important solid scouting is, and how much of a crap shoot the draft is outside of like, the top 5 picks usually.

I totally agree with you from a practical standpoint, but since we don't get to take those picks into future years in mock drafts since we reset it every year, I prefer to deal for current picks that I'll actually get to use.

It'd be interesting to do an RCF spin-off NFL...

I'm planning on launching a dynasty league on here/RBF that uses contracts this summer, assuming it looks like the season is going to happen. There will probably be a buy-in, because I want people to be active and take it seriously. We've had some issues with inactive owners in the free league and I would prefer to discourage that. Playing for money tends to do the trick.

I'm not sure exactly how it will be set up just yet. I'm already in a league that has a format that I like a lot, in which you have an auction draft every year that includes rookies and free agents. How much you bid on a player is their contract, and you can sign them for up to four years at that price. You can cut a player at any point in their contract, but you are on the hook for 1/3 of the remaining money per year over the life of the deal. The main issue is that there's no way to re-sign your players, which I think kind of sucks. At the same time, it does make the drafts a lot more interesting because there are a ton of good players that become cap casualties. The team I inherited in this league two years ago was pretty godawful, but I've had a lot of fun turning it around with four year deals to Nick Chubb, Aaron Jones, Chris Godwin, DK Metcalf, Kyler Murray, Sam Darnold, and Tyler Lockett.

I'll post a thread about it later this year in the fantasy section.

That's what makes the trade laughably bad.

How so?

You’re vastly overvaluing mid 1st round and 2nd round picks then compared to a franchise quarterback.

Also, your hard on for me is showing a lot more as of late.

allow me to explain; you yourself said you may not want to make the trade if the draft capital actually rolled over.

Basically, you made a trade you realistically might not have made.

That’s why it’s laughably bad; you literally might not make a trade if you actually had to live with the results. Takes the realism out.

I would’ve had to think about it, analyze it much more deeply.

It’s a fake mock draft on an Internet forum. Got a bunch of fuckin’ real life Ozzie Newsomes in here grading out fake mock draft trades like it’s a real NFL draft. Weirdo shit.

Just have fun with it and relax buddy.

The only one upset is you. I’m trying to explain the feedback you were given, and unfortunately, are not taking well for someone who calls this a fake mock draft.

My bad, chief.

Nobody is making it personal here. At the same time, this was the expectation posted by @Soda:

Trades MUST be reasonable. You can discuss trades with anyone whether or not they have indicated they'd be open to it.

If people aren't acting in good faith on this, we should ban trades for picks in future years.

Just trying to make a mock draft worth participating in for everyone.
