Alright, I need some help...what are some books or websites I can check out about learning how to cook?

im not that good of a cook and I need to learn how to make things because I need a substantial change in my diet..

I need more greens and veggies obviously, but the main goal is to put on weight so in order to eat that way, I need to cook it.

So Im talking about working with meat...chicken, steak etc. Not fish...I dont eat any seafood outside of Tuna.

I really need to get focused this year...I put on weight last year, but it wasn't all muscle like I wanted it to be but it can be easily corrected. Im not fat, I think Im at like 12% body fat, Im guessing. I was at 7% last year at 188 lbs...now Im 198 so Im just guessing with the pinch method.

Goal is 205 but I got to eat healthy all around just to live a healthier life style....

I got a good kitchen, so i can do anything. Grill inside, dual oven, etc..etc..

What about taking suppliments to gain weight and muscle?

As for the cooking, I just follow instructions on recipes, foreman grille my meats or look online for recipes.

I do have a foreman...I dont like to take a whole lot of supplements, I do have muscle milk but that will probably be it for the unnatural route.

I really dont wanna go that route..Id rather eat healthy and work harder than to use supplements.

pretty much all i know how to do is filet fish, season steak, and filet ducks, other then that, mac and cheese and microwave pizza are the extent of my cooking abilities, there are some good cooking magazines, check out amazon.com or go to Barnes and Noble.

supplements are so bad for you...screw up your kidneys fast.

Sorry man. I do breakfest (Bacon, eggs) and I can grill everything. That's about it.

To go healthy, are a good and tasty way to go. Get some red meat and all kinds of greens.

ANYTHING RICH IN PROTEIN. Chicken, Tune (in water), Eggs, etc...

Eat pasta too.

Get Whey Protein also.

I dont need to know what to eat. I need to know how to cook it.

deep fry that shit. like everything.

I'm sure PIP has some good recipe's for healthy food chocked with Protein..shoot him a PM..

The stir frying was informative...that is something I wanna do because I like stir fry and it's good to mix rice, meat and veggies.

Whatever you do, don't use oils if you don't want to add fat along with muscle.

IF you HAVE TO use oils, use Olive Oil.

But if you have to fry stuff, use something like a "pan-friendly" spray. (Acts like oil, just healthier.)

BOIL STUFF IF YOU CAN.

law giving advice on muscle building...lmao.

Make sure you can cook quickly and effectively, so that you don't spend too much time on it. Too much time --> too much effort --> won't happen often enough... For quick dinners:
1. Gas grill is a must, IMO. The quality can still be very good, nat. gas is cheap, and it's quick.
2. Look in the frozen section for veggies if you are worried about buying too many fresh ones and then having them go bad. If you don't understand the difference in health benefits b/w fresh frozen and canned, let me know. Needless to say, go frozen... I almost never eat things from cans, it just doesn't seem right, but anyways... For frozen vegs, go spinach (for ease of use) or get the stirfry pack, and wok it out (put over brown rice).
3. You probably know this - but don't drink soda or anything else with high fructose corn syrup or bleached refined white flour.
4. Consider a crockpot - Generally these 1 pot meals are easy, cheap, and leave you with food in the house for 3-4 days (depending on how many mooching friends you want to have over. Also a great way to help clean out the fridge before veggies go bad. For example, last night I crockpotted a 15 bean soup (it comes as dried beans), fresh green beans, fresh tomatoes, some pasley/cilantro, zuchinni squash, spinach, spices, and spicy turkey sausage. You just cook it for 24 hours, all together, done-and-done. And if you don't know about incomplete protein, then the short answer is that combining foods with different amino acids (protein structures) can create what amounts to complete protein. Incomplete + Incomplete can = complete. This can be an effective way to up your protein intake, even if it isn't on the "labels".

This probably wasn't what you were looking for, if you wanted specific recipes, but let me know, cuz I can do recipes too. If you already knew the health stuff, then consider this a rant for the less informed posters on the board.
