For more mainstream adoption you can’t have gas costing 50-100 USD in normal times and long periods of time where unless you’re willing to pony up 300+ bucks you aren’t transacting for some hours

Never heard of it either, and don't even know what they do. But the guy who started it was apparently worth $15 billion on Monday and lost it by mid week, and things somehow got worse after that.

 
He went broke, reassured everyone all is fine, then stole all of their money and fled the country

Actually, I'm a radio guy. Rarely do I watch TV, and I tune out distractions such as corporate names for venues. I've also never owned even a fraction of crypto.

That explains it :)

They've been all over--on ump uniforms, in ads, name on arenas... it's incredible.

It's also incredibly sad. Finance is so fucking profitable--and they don't make anything. They just skim money from everyone else.

I don't watch baseball, barely watch the browns in football.

I do watch the cavs and go to a lot of cavs games. Cliffs is one of the sponsors, sponsors an entrance even. Name in the arena. I know their name, but after a year and a half of seeing it, I still have no idea what they do and haven't been interested enough to look it up.

oh, that was an old tweet about an old article that predated what happened this week.

Other one I posted is new.

What happened earlier this week was bad, what happened last night was straight out theft of a massive amount of money.
