Curry a Knick!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I wonder if this does anything to the Eric Snow to Knicks rumor ?

Does Antonio Davis come off the books after the season ?

This could help a team like Milwaukee.. The bulls lost alot on the inside and by doing this they will not be as good as last years squad..
I don't think Tim Thomas is going to work.. The guy has McGrady like skills with a Darius Miles type or work ethic..The Bulls were a tough team that buckled down on the defensive side of the court..

Tim Thomas does not provide that..

He is a SF, why would you take time away From NOCH and DENG for Thomas ?

DENG can give you what Thomas can 12-15pts 4-7rbs 3-5ast

And Noch will give you the D..

This deal doesn't make sense... Sweetney is a solid pickup, but they should have gotten Ariza or Lee in return as well..

The Bulls got fleeced big time... They better have another deal in their back pocket..

Let's just say that this mutually destructive trade will positively effect the other playoff contenders for seeds 4-8. :D

I agree with your points here. Coming from a man with extensive Tim Thomas experience, this trade sucks for the Bulls. If you thought Curry was an underachieving big body who's only saving grace is a little offense, then let me tell you, Tim Thomas is the same thing in a smaller package. Tim is a non factor on defense and has never been committed to making anyone around him any better. With his ball skills (handle), height (6-10), and athleticism, Tim should average at least 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Tim's general personality is one of indifference. His lack of enthusiam and committment to the finer points of team play (defense, setting good picks, passing, ect) on the court suggests that he doesn't care one way or the other how the team fairs. After "a certain team in Wisconsin" traded away three big name stars, the keys to the franchise were handed to the highly compensated Tim Thomas. Thomas held true to form and slinked into the background like Henry Winkler in "The Waterboy" while a hard working second round pick from Ohio State University filled the vacuum in leadership and assumed control of the franchise.

New York gets the slight edge in this deal because Curry is still an upgrade over Sweetney while Ariza and Q can more than compensate for Tim Thomas' loss. The Knicks still don't have the proper mix of committed team players so I still don't see them as players in the playoff race.

Where I once had Chicago in the 8th seed, I now have the Washington Wizards. The Bulls will fall to a 10 seed behind the Wiz and Knicks.

Tim Thomas is a garbage player. But he's worth more than you think. 14 million in cap relief, that is. Look for him to be dealt around the trade deadline, for a rebuilding team that wants cap space... Zach Randolph? Jamal Magloire? Or he could finally get his act together on this winning team.

Tom Thomas will be a sure disruption to the chemistry off the team. that guy has been a head case on almost every team he has played on in his career,

interesting trade i guess. some times i wonder if Isiah just trades guys to make trades or if he has a plan.

I mean, from a Knicks perspective, it's a risky, but high reward situation.

Jerome James
Eddy Curry
Quentin Richardson
Jamal Crawford
Stephon Marbury
Bench:
Trevor Ariza
Nate Robinson
Channing Frye
David Lee
Malik Rose
Maurice Taylor
Anfernee Hardaway
Allan Houston

That's a pretty troubled starting 5 there. But if Larry Brown can gel them together, they're pretty potent scorers. This is a team that has a good chance to make the playoffs, in a weak Atlantic division. Not to say that they'll win the division over NJN, but that the extra few games played against them will surely help.

wow, i said Tom Thomas. he has been on so many teams in his career, which kinda shows you how much of a disruption he can be:
8 years and 5 teams....thats Antoine Walker Esque.

i just read that Paxson and the Bulls had offered Curry $400,000 annually for the next 50 years, guaranteed even if he failed the genetic test. so i wonder why he was being so stingy about taking a test. thats alot of money.

I still say it's a good move by the Knicks. The trade is basically Sweetney and a couple of picks for Curry since the other players involved have ending contracts. They didn't have to give up much for a young C who still possesses talent and potential.
Curry is only 22 and many times it takes big men longer to develop. He has improved each season although his defense and rebounding still have a lot of improvement to go. It's worth a shot for NY especially since the cost was fairly low.

The Knicks are still a poor team. They managed a scoop in ridding themselves of Thomas, but he was off the books next season. They now have commited to two terribly inconsistent poor defensive and rebounding centers in James and Curry. They now have two undersized power forwards in Taylor and Rose left with Rose their only decent boarder but he will be beaten often due to his lack of length. I see this as a positive move by the Bulls, who may just suffer a minor blip, but overall improve as a franchise.
