Danny Granger: Europeans smell like 'dead donkeys'

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
"my europeans got no nose"

"how does it smell?"

"awefull!!"

:chuckles:

To be fair, he's in Turkey, which half of europe doesn't even want to claim as european.

We've heard this before though. I remember Barkley complaining about it.

Who cares where they are I'm sure they can get an idea when the fans from around the world litter the stadium.

The Native Americans also complained about the foul stench that accompanied the Europeans when they first landed in the Americas.

Not sure what you mean either, but half of Turkey is technically inside European borders.

geographically speaking, only a tiny part of Turkey is in Europe. I've never been there so I couldn't comment but having traveled to several European countries I must say that Ukraine was the only country where I came across a severe lack-of-deodorant situation (amazing how much can people perspire even with -20 Celsius outside :chuckles:) and it was probably a fluke anyway...

so in all honesty, Danny Granger is most probably an idiot :thumbdown

Technically no...only minor fraction of Turkey is inside Europe and the cities the tournament is played in are well into Asia except Istanbul which lies pretty much on borders of Europe and Asia.

A basketball player doesn't know his geography, who woulda thunk?

Eh, anyway you cut it, Turkey is considered to be both European and Asian, which provides for its unique history and culture.

But the more important point is that Danny Granger is a moron.

Sorry. I should have been more precise, since only the part between Bulgaria and Bosporus is inside Europe.

It's largely a cultural thing.

I remember Richard Pryor talking about his trip to Africa and how he thought a hitchiker stunk and at the same time the hitchhiker thought he stunk with all the cologne and deodorant he and his party were wearing.

And apparently Jamie Foxx did (stole?) the same routine

there's an interesting book called 'Clean: An unsanitized history of washing' that describes how perceptions of cleanliness (and stench) in the western world changed throughout history
