The uncertainty thing wasn't an issue in the summer of 07 when those guys were signed. Allen wasn't up for playing with an unproven young guy & Redd wanted the most money possible. It wasn't until Ariza was a FA that lebrons status became an issue.

With Bosh, we had a trade lined up but it was a S&T. He was going to Miami 100%.

But I do agree that LeGM has mostly made terrible decisions that have cost him in the long run.
If I remember Redd asked LBJ if he were going to be here long term and LBJ wouldn’t give him a definite answer so he moved on.

Some Peeps in the GDT were a little worried about him taking a bunch of 3s early on. The stroke is too pure imo. If his legs are good and he has any daylight, I want him taking that shot.

I wanted Culver. Embarrassing.
Bro, I read this one article pre draft that was making some weird comparison to something with Culver's shooting form and body type to Jordan(Michael, not DeAndre) and so naturally for like a week or two I was convinced we need to take Culver at all costs.

Thankfully I snapped out of it and went back to wanting DeAndre Hunter :chuckle: (nice player but I'd take Garland 10/10 times in hindsight)

Also, while looking at the 2019 Draft Class on basketball reference.com, I came across an example of why some advanced stats are so meaningless in rating young players.

Current Win Share for career:

Jaxson Hayes: 8.5
Darius Garland: 2.9

Now, I get it, even if WinShare isn't used as an indicator of future success, just based on games and minutes played and performance on the court, how in the hell does Jaxson Hayes have a WS rating nearly 3 times higher than Garland and 5th highest in the entire 2019 draft class?

I remember that summer. Man, I wanted Redd so bad. Both him and LeBron were Ohio boys. I traded for him on my Nba2k and lit teams up with those two on the Cavs. That's essentially what Giannis and Middleton are right now.
