strong disagree.
Besides scoring there is nothing Kyrie does that makes his team better. He is an absolutely a fantastic scorer and maybe one of the scariest 1 on 1 players of this generation. Can he carry a team for a game or 3? Absolutely. However he is going to do it by taking 35 shots, trying to score 50. Sure he may play a little PG, but he isnt going to score 30 points, rack up 8 assists, and dominate on the defensive side of the court. I wouldnt put him on a 35 win team and expect them to win 45 games the next year thats for sure.
Also yesterdays 27-9-7 line he only did once last year, and only 3 times did he put up 27 and 9 assists. It might be a top 15 game of his all time with the nets from an overall perspective. So not sure why anyone would ever say kyrie was "shut down"
As for Garland I would say i agree he is the opposite, he is the sort of player that does raise a teams ceiling. You do expect him to go score 20, collect 8 assists, and play decent defense. Do i think he is going to take a team from 35 wins to 45 wins right now. Of course not, but he is also only 3 years removed from college and 4 years removed from high school. Give me another year ago and I absolutely he absolutely becomes a game changing point guard.
