This guy might be the most important role player in this team.
I think this is right. If Wade can play 60 games at the level he’s shown so far this year, we are a much better team. I don’t expect him to stay at .500 from 3, but if he can shoot .400 and keep doing everything else he’s been doing, we are going to win a lot of games.

How concerning is his knee injury? I haven't really found any coverage on it from the numerous terrific Cavs reporters

How do you get an infection in your knee? His surgery was like 6 months ago.

What am I missing?

At least until Rubio comes back this is 100% true.

Which is a lot of pressure in a guy that is still terrified to shoot the ball.

Bursitis. It should heal to 100% with proper rest but I think rest is the only real cure. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I've had bursitus in my elbow for 25 years. There have been only two serious flare ups in that time. The last one was just a couple months ago. Spectacular swelling, and very painful to the touch, it didn't really affect movement much but is brutally painful if I bang it. Treatment is anti inflammatories, anti biotics, steroids, and rest. It took mine six to eight weeks to resolve, but other medical reasons mean I can't take the nsaid's that reduce inflammation. The worst thing is it never really goes away. I'm sure he has top notch docs, but it is probably something that could bother him on and off for his lifetime.

If it's prepatellar bursitis, which it sounds like it is, its not in anyway related to the surgery and he will likely be back soon. Not an expert, but I was talking to a guy who wrestled and its pretty common with that sport. Apparently, most bursitis in the knee in athletes is caused by impact, but instead of a bruise like with impact on a muscle, the impact is on a bursa sac and it gets inflamed and swells up like a pufferfish and hurts.

Won't likely happen. JB is totally clueless on rotations and why some things work and others don't. Doubt he even realizes that the losing streak started with mindlessly changing Dean's minutes. Win 8 in a row while Dean is averaging over 30 minutes per game. Then all of a sudden he plays 15,14, and 0 due to the bursa infection which of course isn't JB's fault...until he replaces those minutes with Okoro. Why would you mess with rotations that are going great?? He can't read + - stats for group rotations and its been that way for 2 years. It's not going to change under JB. He's a nice guy but clueless as to what makes things tick and what doesn't.

I think he'd love to play Dean right now.

I was as mystified as anyone when his min dropped, but many of us noticed Dean was struggling more than usual moving laterally. The fact he didn't play against the Kings who had a lot of wings made me know something was up

Comeback kid has asked me to post this since the mods here have him partially blocked for some reason. The mods have blocked him for the most part for much of the past two years. Comeback did have the honor of coaching Dean for several years in St. John. I am from a different part of the state, and had the honor of coaching against Dean and the St. John team twice at the 2A state basketball tournament. Dean's junior and senior years. We have became friends since those two games.

Anyway. Dean was not injured in any way before this issue showed up. Dean took a nap on the 9th of November before the Clippers game and when he woke up from his nap his knee was swollen up from the bursa sack infection. It was a total shock to Dean and everyone. Most of the swelling is gone, and Dean is still on antibiotics. But they won't let him do anything yet, including shoot arounds, unless that changed today.
