Once again there’s no fucking proof whatsoever of it happening. In fact he still stands by all sexual conduct was CONSENSUAL and has since the beginning of time.

And to be frank I have no reason to believe one way or the other but to suspend the dude for a season plus is ludicrous as shit when a federal judge came in as an unbiased party and ruled 6 games.

It’s a fucking CLOWN SHOW and yeah I’m biased as shit and I admit it I don’t fucking care.

I don’t want to waste a year of franchise QB play and Nick Chubb and Myles Garrett’s prime.

I’m fucking upset.
So, maybe all the outside observers have some pretty good points on all this?

It's pretty telling that you can't even bring yourself to argue that Watson didn't do anything wrong.

These sorts of biased, emotional rants make our fanbase look shitty when outsiders read them.

I also agree that losing a year of competition for this roster is an absolute travesty. We're one of the top 3 rosters in the NFL talent-wise, and to squander it because of our QB situation absolutely fucking sucks. If it happens, it's something we're all going to be talking about for decades just like the '97 World Series.

66 masseuses he reached out to and 24 accusers of sexual assault.

The other 42 stated he was nothing but professional but whatever we don’t care about that.
That is not what she said on air, is all I was saying...

This was always going to be a sh!t show and was one of the reason why I didn't want to go after Watson in the first place. My biggest fear is everything falls into place and we are just left with Brissett at QB. Sometimes it's hard to recreate when everything falls into place and you got one shot to win a Superbowl.

It’s so true. We don’t have a massive window here. Another year of Chubbs prime, another year of Garrett’s prime. The closing cap coming down year after year.

I’m so frustrated.

On top of all that @Chris fucking completely called the NFL coming in and white knighting this shit and it seemed obvious they’d play into public outcry rather than going with the facts.

Sue Robinson went with the facts. The NFL is going with public opinion which is so fucking cringe to me.
Nope, the NFL is going along with the conclusion that Robinson came to.

Robinson found that Watson had violated all three provisions based on the evidence presented.
  1. Sexual assault
  2. Danger to the safety and well-being of another
  3. Undermining or putting at risk the integrity of the NFL
She even called this the most egregious pattern of conduct the NFL has had to review.

Judge Robinson said six games is in line with previous NFL punishments, but she also called out the league's judgment in the past as insufficient and irregular.

Yup, I mentioned this in the Jacoby thread, everyone acting like a year of Watson being out isn’t a big deal is not paying attention to the small window of time we have with youth and minimal salary cap issues.

Just throwing these breadcrumbs out there.

If I'm Andrew Berry, and the Deshaun Watson situation was pushed on me by Jimmy Haslam, and now this incredible roster I worked so hard to build gets squandered, there's no way I'm staying in Cleveland.

The Browns structuring his contract to minimize the financial consequences for Watson was brazen and I can’t help but think that pissed Goodell and other NFL executives off.

This narrative has to stop. The Browns did this for like 3 other players this year. were they trying to save them money as well??
This was about payroll management.

What makes you think Berry didn’t want Watson? I personally think Berry and Stefanski wanted Baker the fuck outta here and realize this is a championship roster except at QB. From everything we’ve heard he’s been a Watson guy since back in the 2017 draft.

Maybe there's something we can learn for next time? Maybe pounding the table, yelling at other posters and making declarative statements when you're coming from a position of ignorance isn't the smartest decision?
Maybe you can learn a lesson and not try to embarrass posters or isolate someone and acting like you’re better than people. A place of ignorance? It was my guess/prediction and I was adamant about it. I really don’t appreciate your posts when they are in that tone. If you have a problem with me, handle it in private. My inbox is waiting.

Glad someone said it. Recurring theme constantly throughout these threads is the elitist mentality and tone coming down from various posters.

Sue Robinson would like a word but she’s already been cancelled after one episode and completely forgotten.

The actual decision that you claim will be “universally praised” was a decision to overrule an impartial expert specifically hired to provide an independent expert opinion.

But in 2022 I’ll concede that people like Florio and John Harbaugh - who aren’t biased at all - get respect and a retired Federal Judge does not.

People don't look at things without emotion.

If/when people read Judge Robinson's report, they see two things....

1. Deshaun Watson knowingly committed egregious levels of predatory sexual assault
2. Despite fact No. 1, the recommendation is that Watson can't be punished as much as he deserves because of the NFL's poor/unclear labor negotiating

Respect to precedence is just not something the vast majority of people are comfortable with when the federal judge herself admits in her own findings that Watson's actions justified a longer punishment, but she's not giving one because precedence.

It comes off to most people like Watson got off light because of a technicality.

That is not what the Browns did at all. It’s been explained a million times over the past 3.5 months. Please do some research or read earlier threads into how teams structure large contracts to maximize future cap Space that is carried over. This claim was dispelled in April a million times.

And let's play the what if game and the Browns did not trade for him...
Baker is the QB then what? Baker wasn't coming back after this year... Watson is young.
