Charlie (Who?) Villenuevo 23 points, 7 rebounds a block a steal and an assist.
Jose (Who?) Calderon 6 Assists, 15 points and 2 rebounds

The Whos in Whoville are out to play tonight!

This Calderon is an unknown but has come up big thus far in preseason. Babcock was bagged for selecting Villenuevo, but he has done nothing but impress.

Toronto is paying these guys a combined 2.89 milloin this year for these two guys!

Also my man Loren had a decent game 3-3 FG 3-5 FT for nine points and 4 rebounds in 19 minutes.

Charlie V. Will be a big time player..

He never really got a strong chance at UCONN.. His freshman year saw him play a lesser role (with good reason) Playing behind Okafor and Gordon..

Plus Josh Boone was putting up big time numbers too..

I remember watchin' him and LeBron play together in the McDonald's game.. He was impressive...

But the Dude has No eyebrows ;) :(

Haha can you say uncle fester? lol oh well he is an intriguing rookie, athletic powerforward who can run the floor and throw down. The best case scenario would be KG or Amare like, the worst case scenario would have to be like Joe Smith.

Just confounded to see him selected so high.. why? Because he plays PF. Problem? So does their franchise player, Bosh. I guess the trend nowadays, a la Amare Stoudemire and Dwight Howard, is to move PF's out of their natural position to play center, only to have them complain about it next season.

When I look at a guy like Villaneuva, I see a guy who's game translates much better to the NBA game, then it did in college.

I dunno what it was about him at UConn, but he always seemed like the most talented player on the court, but he never dominated games like he should have been capable of doing.

Maybe Calhoun's system was restricting him in a way?

The big question about Villenueva was that he didn't also give effort and wasn't the hardest worker around.
he has done well in preseason but it is just preseason. Let's see this guy play for a while before we start comparing him to perennial all stars.

I think I read that he has some disease which caused him to lose all his hair. That's where the no eyebrows came from.
