Dion Waiters

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Shot distribution tonight: Waiters 14, Westbrook 13, Durant 12, Jackson 12, Ibaka 11.

Dion led OKC in shot attempts tonight and the team was getting their collective asses kicked throughout most of the game. No way KD and Westbrook put up with that shit for long.

To be fair, 4-5 of those were shots after the game was decided and Durant/Westbrook were pulled. But still--with thengame in the balance, Dion 12, Durant 12, Westbrook 13. Of course, KD turned it over 4 times and Westbrook 8 times and if they hadn't, they would have put up more shots.

Uhh if you guys watched the game you'd realize he shot a good amount of shots with the game already in garbage time. His *real* stat line should've read 4-13. Those were off the shots attempted when the game was still in question.

Also something that the box score doesn't reflect is his defense. He was playing very good defense, even got a couple blocks, one on Harden and one on Beverley.

His shot wasn't falling but he got good looks. 2 or 3 dumb shots but that's not too bad. His shot is just broken @ the moment. Still giving them above average defense on the wing though.

I watched the entire game and Waiters was one of the few guys trimming the lead in the 2nd half with his defense. He had some ridiculous blocks and played Harden as well as you can.

Brooks preaches defense first and you can tell that Waiters believes he will hold on to his minutes as long as he plays D with effort. He has played big 4th quarter minutes for OKC the last two games.

Sad we couldn't get that D from him on a nightly basis. If he continues to play that way with OKC, he will carve out a very nice role on that team.

Honestly though who does Dion think he is? Leading in shot attempts on a team that includes Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. And it wasn't like he was hot either.

He took like 5 shots in garbage time.

Dion just had a huge series, hit a corner 3, then stole the ball from Curry and dunked it. 5-9, 14 points, 2 steals, 2-2 from 3 late in the 3rd.

Dion just scored 5 straight - 14 points (still a quarter left).

Three games in OKC - 15, 16, and 14

5-11 from 3 point range total

18-39 from the field

78 total minutes

I see you Dion. Glad he's doing well enough.

Just missed at the rim all the while screaming, "And 1!!!!"

Great move though lots of space to work with and he's getting to the rim at will

Great move though.
He got fouled a bit ago by Barbosa on a layup attempt, yelling 'aye!! and one!!'. No call, of course. Half of me feels bad because he gets no respect. The other half is glad he doesn't get respect since he's always yelling for calls. Wish he'd just shut up and play.

@jadande Dion Waiters has the highest +/- of anyone tonight: +14 . He has 16 points

Dion's definitely done some stupid stuff tonight, but he's playing insanely good defense. And just as I say that, Klay drives right by him. :chuckle:
