On the topic of the Warriors, and on the changing NBA game:
Is anyone kinda sick of ALL TEAMS in the league unabashedly gunning up 3pt shots?
The fact that a 3pt shot is worth 50% more than a regular shot has completely changed how teams approach the game. You can shoot 50% on 2's or you can shoot 33% on 3's and essentially have the same result.
As kids are brought up in this style of game; it leads to utter selfishness and low IQ play.
I actually enjoy a good defensive slug-fest sometimes. If the refs are letting them play, it's great.
Teams probably are sick of how inconsistent the refs call these games, so why take it to the rack and potentially get injured or a no-call? That's the logic here, just shoot 3's!
It's really diluting the game IMO. Sure it's awesome watching Curry gun up 3's and make them; yes that's entertaining but you realize how many players are going to mimic this?
None of those imitators are Stephen Curry, period.
In some ways to me Curry's game reminds me of Gilbert Arenas, only Curry is about 5x's the player of Arenas.
Everybody is in love with this new style of ball, but honestly it's monotonous to me. I enjoy a balanced attack.
I enjoy teams who are hyenas on defense, mix in a combination of inside shots, mid-range shots, and 3 balls.
At this rate, the players are completely used to 3pt shots, they can all hit 3's unconsciously. I actually wouldn't mind if they pushed the 3pt line back considerably.
