Got this from another forum.

"Everybody knows Drew Gooden is a beast on the block and he's going to get you a double-double," Gooden said. "I don't know when I'm going to get that respect. I don't know when a team is going to say, 'We need this cat and we need to put some players around him.'

Gotta love the way he talks in third person. Keep the trap closed Drew for your own good.

"We're having a beast of a time trying to get Drew to pass the ball in the offense."
-Kenny Natt

Thats the Drew we all love and get frustrated by.

"Everyone knows chicagocavfan can come with some good replies from time to time. You just gotta surround chicagocavfan with the talent needed to elevate chicagocavfan's game."

-chicagocavfan

"Chicagocavfan needs to learn how to share"

:chuckles:

At least Drew Gooden is comfident in himself (verbally). He needs to now show that confidence on the court.

Drew's correct about his being a potential double doouble every night, but he has to show up every night. Still, I am not convinced we will do better on the open market. Drew can score and he can rebound when in the mood.

I personally like him at the 4 and with Andy coming along, I am not sure this is our biggest need to fill. (Odd saying that considering where we were moments after Boozer screwed the pooch.) I think we need a real PG, an older but powerful center to by Z breath, (Dale Davis, Dikimbe? ) and maybe a kareem rush shooter swingman.

I think Luke was brickin it last night, but if he gets it together and Pavlovich keeps improving, we could have a good year.

why not a sign and trade for SAR.?? might not work money wise but a thought..?

:shakehead
at talking about yourself in the 3rd person Drew.

Drew Gooden:

05/06 = $4,065,811
06/07 = $5,362,804

Sign and trade possibilty, SAR is a FA. From hoopshype:

"So now the Nets are in a holding pattern, waiting for Shareef Abdur-Rahim to take at least two other trips just like this one and hoping that he found the environment appealing enough to make New Jersey his home for the next six years -- or as long as it takes the franchise to pack up and move to Brooklyn. "The one thing everyone is missing is there's no negotiation going on here," one Nets official said yesterday, alluding to the finite amount the team can pay the free- agent forward. "Either he likes it and comes, or doesn't like it. That's all there is right now." Newark Star-Ledger

"Abdur-Rahim has other options as well. He will visit Sacramento and Miami in the next week, but several executives around the league believe that no team -- other than rebuilding clubs with salary-cap room -- will offer the 28-year-old more than the midlevel exception, the extra fund that teams over the cap can earmark toward free agents." Newark Star-Ledger

"The Nets' pursuit of Keyon Dooling remains on hold until Abdur-Rahim makes up his mind, because they don't know how much money to offer the Miami free agent until they determine which exception to use on Abdur- Rahim. The team believes that it is very likely that Portland will accept the trade exception to use in a sign-and-trade scenario, leaving the midlevel for Dooling." Newark Star-Ledger

"A representative in the office of agent Aaron Goodwin said the Heat is courting forward Shareef Abdur-Rahim but that no meeting has been scheduled. Abdur-Rahim was to wrap up a visit with the New Jersey Nets Thursday." South Florida Sun-Sentinel

SAR wants to win, and I doubt he goes to the Nets. They dont have a bad roster but Carter is overrated, Kidd is on his last leg and i cant even name their C.

We have have the room to make him an offer, do it. Trade Gooden to a team with cap space for a lottery pick and get Z and Saruanus.

in the future i would hope we never have to read it or hear it when drew gooden speaks.

that quote kinda comfirms his clinically retardedness.

And that's not even a word...so who got the best of those two statements?

Drew or Pip?

mac
that was the point of it!!!!!!! "tongue and cheek" like the chi town dude, and his 3rd person reference :chuckles:

I'd have interest in Shareef but I don't think the Cavs do right now. I asked Windhorst in the chat yesterday about Shareef and he said that SAR's agent told him the Cavs haven't contacted him.

I did read a while ago about the Cavs being interested in a more defensive minded rebounding PF. With Hughes now here I would think they'd want a PF who can shoot with range and can hit occasional jumpers.

Ii wouldn't have a problem if Gooden was back but I also wouldn't have a problem if they traded him.

I kow, I shouda put a smiley to note my sarcasm.

With us paying out the nose for Hughes, Drew Gooden suddenly becomes a lot more valuable. We can't just buy an entire team now.

I think Gooden will become more consistant under Mike Brown. Don't forget he is still young, and hey he had a pretty good season last year... Let's give him another year before we go and trade him away. Besides we have more important things to worry about then PF, with Gooden and Anderson on the team. Get a PG and re-sign Z, and we will do fine with the Gooden/Anderson combo at PF. Hopefully both players will make great strides this season, but even if they don't will we still be OK.
