Windler doesn't make enough to worry about picking up his option. What you don't want to do is cut bait on the next Danny Green or Joe Harris early.

4 mill option then a 6 mill QO.

You probably pick up his option, but 6 mill starts being enough to cut bait on the QO if he doesnt start showing something by the end of next year.

But i agree we probably pick up his option for next year

I mean Joe Harris played like a guy who only made the team because his Dad was the high school coach when he was here. Green dribbled like Mr. Potter from Happy Days during his stint in Cleveland. Windler has shown more than either of them in terms of a well rounded game. He's just got to convert his open 3s.

If he spends next 2 years not being healthy or looking like a NBA player, you dont offer the QO. You just cant waste 6 mill on him, it might not seem like allot, but a wasted roster spot at 3 times league min?

I loved the pick, i hope he lives up to what he can be and shows promise....he has 2 years.

I hope he is living in the weight room, way too soft.

His upper body and arms look like they have gained muscle mass but still just something weird about his frame and how he moves on the court to me.

Anything positive at all we get from him has to be considered 100% bonus/lottery ticket winner and not something built in to pre season projections of how the team will fare.

Would be fantastic though if he had 50 healthy games prior to the trade deadline and created some actual prospect trade value for himself but I am not counting on it.

KD is skinny, but he isn't bullied around, Windler looked overmatched last year.
KD is 7 feet tall and he was bullied plenty when he first got in the league. Go back and watch that Heat v. OKC series.

Which one though…Green or Harris? :chuckle:
Anyway I agree with your point.

And this guy is not wirey strong like Tayshaun Prince and he doesn’t have the length either. He has to be a lethal 3pt shooter. He wasn’t that last year.

If he's just a good 3 point shooter, he'll be a solid rotation guy.

The real question was whether that great 2 game stretch was the real him and then he got hurt or was it just a lucky 2 games.

well we havent seen much video of him actually playing. Lets see if he gets through camp..
