Few comments I have that really haven’t seen brought up...
Windler is truly ambidextrous. He is a scratch golfer as a righty. He actually wanted a golf scholarship through his first two years in HS until he began competing in AAU and received about 20 basketball offers within a few weeks.
He does most activities as a right hander.....just felt more comfortable shooting lefty.
One thing I always like about mid-major guys, is in many respects the game can become easier when surrounded by better talent. Belmont is a respectable program, but there are guys you can scheme around and cheat on. Windler was a target every night and still put up big numbers. That isn’t to say he will be better in the NBA, or the NBA will be “easy” for him in any respect. Just that he’s gone from the best offensive player on his team, to likely the 3rd or 4th option whenever he’s on court, for at least the beginning of his career.
I still like the Ingles comparison. Joe spent a majority of his career playing professionally in Australia, and it took him a while to adjust to the speed and physicality of the NBA, but has since become a key cog on a very good Western Conference playoff team. Great shooter, underrated ball handler and playmaker, and a sneaky good defender.
I think Windler has a higher ceiling than Ingles, but if he becomes that type of player, you’d 100% take that at pick #26.
