21.3 points a game. Part of the key has been no Mitchell for some of those, he becomes our 2nd offensive option, I think he takes that positon eventually ahead of Garland, but not this year, and probably not next.

They thing that cant be said enough is how he is scoring. Footwork has been great, his 10 foot jumper looks great, his 8 foot turn around has been great, and his hook shot has been great.

His outside shooting, especially from 3 still isnt there, but its coming, I can see it. He has been working on that part of his game and will be the last part to come, but if you watch his inside game, imagine what he becomes in 3 years when he shoots 36% from 3 and gets his handles a bit tighter too.

And I dont know how, but no 21 year old is a finished prodcut defensively, he will somehow get better on defense too.

Do you watch any Raptors games? They have no offensive rhythm it's a lot of iso sets with very little ball movement. It's hectic and not something that benefits Scotties style. And yes he's usually their 3rd or 4th option - but he has better numbers than Mobley while having an extremely slow start to the year where he was asked to run point and facilitate while they dealt with injuries.

Not only did you not answer Rich's question--you stated a bunch of stuff for why Barnes is disappointing, things which could equally be applied to Mobley and the Cavs' offense--saying Barnes has better numbers than Mobley is just wrong.

Per 100 possessions, Barnes scores the same as Mobley on more shots and higher usage, his ORtg is worse, his DRtg is worse, his TS% is 7% less efficient, his VORP, BPM, DBPM, WS, DWS, OWS, and PER are all worse than Mobley's.

Barnes has better spacing too: VanVleet, Siakam, Anunoby, and Trent Jr. can all shoot jumpers. Mobley plays next to a true center that cannot.

21.3 points and 9.1 rebounds per game. I think those will be baseline numbers for him eventually.

and this is why we don't need another high volume shooter at the 3. We need a guy good enough that he has to be played tightly at the 3 point line, but we don't need a guy in the starting 5 who takes shots away from Mitchell, Garland, and (increasingly) Mobley. As Mobley and Garland continue to improve, we are going to have plenty of firepower on offense in coming years. Mitch, Allen, Mobley & Garland are going to get buckets. Looking ahead, I'm more concerned with bench scoring. Love doesn't have a lot left. Rubio is aging. LeVert may or may not be in our plans. We are going to need buckets in the second unit. Our 3 needs to be a tall defender that can cover those tall wings and guards that are dominating the league and who can shoot well enough to keep defenses honest.

Mitchell is back, Mobley's scoring will go down, but the growth of Mobley is real.

Hopefully, Mitchell has his eyes open after seeing this one the bench. I thought he was much better when he didn't take so many hard shots and his assists were up. Makes him less predictable IMO.

Needs to feed his local big men.

Mitchell has been efficeint this year, he is just under th 50/40/90 gold standard and has had 5 assists a game, but i realize the assists are up because of the games he played PG with Garland out.

I agree he should feed the big men a bit more. But I think JBB playing with small ball lineups where Mobley moves to backup center when Allen is off court and using Cedi and Lamar at PF has opened up things for Mobley. It has been effective and got us back into a game and won it for us over the last 6 games. I expect that to continnue.

As players learn how to play together, even the best coaches need to learn how various lineups and players play off of eachother.

I know we remember how JR and Iman came in as almost plug and play, but that was different. The ball dominannt players in Kyrie and Lebron where already established, in this case we added a Lebron in the offseason our alpha, it takes time, honestly i have been pleasantly surprised. We will see if the growth of both JBB and Evan continue now that Mitchell is back.

He really knows how to step it up. Last night the only two players I felt confident in the last 5 minutes were Mobley and Okoro.... which I guess is good news, but pretty disappointing how the rest of the team played.

Mobley and/or some coaches need to study his successful shots versus his misses. Almost all his misses come when he hesitates, thinks, goes up slow. Almost all his made shots come when he is explosive, decisive, quick trigger. When he slows his motion it's a miss. When he shoots with a flick of the wrist it's a make.

He is always slow with his three point shots. He needs to shoot them line he's just outside the key, just be more instinctual and trust muscle memory instead of aiming.

Someone mentioned Amar’e.

Amar’e was explosive and very decisive and scored a lot of points off Nash’s passes and on the move.

We’ve talked a lot about KG and that’s still there but Amar’e is a good study for him.

At some point, Evan needs to take the piss goggles off and realize he’s a monster too. He could be that explosive, but he’s just not out of the cage yet.

It has been 17 games since Evan has it a 3.
Imagine how good he will be when he starts to hit even 30 percent on 3's.
That will help him take the next step to greatness. I was hoping he would have
improved that shot over the summer but i am confident he will get there in time.

I noticed in tonight’s game (OKC) that there is a direct negative correlation between the number of dribbles Mobley takes before a shot and his chance of making that shot. He just is not somebody who knows how to shoot off the dribble, he needs a compact move that takes maybe two dribbles, a pass, or a dunk/layup. He looks confused when he dribbles - poor coaching

Evan stroked those threes tonight, no hitch or hesitation in his shooting motion. He needs to build on that muscle memory and get that confidence up, seeing more of them going in like tonight will help.
