Man I thought Evan Mobley was a quiet kid…This guy posts something new on social media every 8 minutes.

Gonna be pretty sweet to see him transform from a Reggie Miller physique to a Tayahaun Prince one in just one short off season…

Liking this Mobley Adams bromance very much I must say. Great guy to work out with.
Just don’t drink with him or let his brothers around when our kid is with him. I’ve read accounts of the Adams Family men, and they’re all Lurch, no Pugsley. That’s one badass group of 17 siblings to be friends with, but they might snap your clavicle just giving you a hug.

Lets be honest guys. Mobley needs to step up his weight game. Thats like what? 150 pounds he squatting? I was doing that when i was 17-18. Okoro needs to let him know to get serious. He should be 300 pounds minimum right now.
His levers are a lot longer than yours. Plus, it’s different, as others noted.

strength and conditioning is surprisingly bad at the NBA level and most guys depend on PEDs for gains, but Mobley doing anything at this point is a big win.

one day at a time.

Yes but 150 bro. I know he has some long ass legs but dudes a young world class athlete. What was he doing all these years in HS and USC? I know it will take awhile but he should have started earlier.

Is there anything to suggest he was maxing out there? Or trying to?

A lot of strength and conditioning coaches avoid deadlifts for their athletes. If they do, they’ll do the trap bar deadlift like the one Mobley was doing and even then they won’t use a lot of weight.

It’s a cost / benefit thing. Deadlifts take a bigger toll on the body and require more recovery time than alternative exercises, which outweighs the benefit. For most basketball players, heavy deadlifts just don’t have a place in their workouts.

I will have to say that I was surprised that everyone was jizzing themselves at Steph Curry's 400lb trap bar deadlift and it was "best on the team".... which seems pretty sad for a professional sports team.

In H.S. I used to bench and squat more than a 6'7" buddy who ended up starting for Pitt and playing some DE for the Vikings. Didn't mean a thing, he was WAY stronger than I was. Faster too, once he got going. Me being 5'10 and him being longer than fuck, it's all about the distance you're moving the weight and the leverage from having longer bones/muscles versus shorter bones/muscles. I thought everyone knew that. I could handle him on the wrestling mat but he could clean my clock on the BB court (of course).

Mobley's upper body looks pretty strong to me. His calves and ankles are skinny, looks like he went through a hell of a growth spurt and probably not that many years ago. It takes time to catch up and I don't think it's something that should be rushed.

JMO.

I mean, this was expected. If he was stronger, like 240-250, and still had the same mobility he’s probably the overwhelming #1 pick.

Can’t forget he just turned 20 in June. He was listed at 205 his senior year in HS and was weighed at 215 this year. If he can continue similar growth over the next 2-3 seasons he’ll be fine.
