Meh. Unicorn, my ass. At this point he's not what I would consider a competent NBA playoff performer, he's a just regular season wonder boy.

He’s not even great in the regular season

He's one of the most impactful defenders in the league.
He's an average offensive starter but is showing signs of growth albeit at a slower rate than we would all like.

Our front office and coaching staff need to put together a roster and system which maximizes the talents of our best players.

How would we all see Mobely if he was playing on Miami, Boston, OKC or any other well balanced or well coached team? I'd predict he was first team all defence pushing for dpoy and playing an integral part in the push for a championship, just my feel.

The tape of the blowbys on him are concerning but this was why we had Dean Wade, unfortunately Mobley is a better post defender than a perimeter ace and he is a bit out of position, though he should be able to contain Franz. He does have slower giraffe legs it seems. Case in point we need an athletic 6'8" offensive ace and defensive stopper. Know any for less than $40M/yr?! Pascal Siakam or OG Anunoby type guys would have been great acquisitions.

I want to believe this kid is good and can rise to this challenge but I just can't. I hope he proves me wrong.

Next season, he has to be featured more on offense whether he does it with the 2nd unit or not. He needs the touches. Cant depend on 2 small guards to generate offense in the playoffs. The vision is that cavs can give him the ball at the freethrow line and spread the floor for him to go to work.

Won't happen unless JB is gone

Huge game winning block, but like I said in the game thread, we have a problem in our hands regarding the Mobley/Allen duo, unless Mobley somehow learns how to shoot.

It's clear they at their best when they have some big who can shoot alongside them.

Mobley came up big tonight by sticking to what he does best. That is, dunking and defending within the restricted zone. It worked. Evan is elite at defending near the restricted zone.

Out in the paint, against Banchero and Franz, especially in games 3 and 4, not so much. They both had him reacting a step slow, being wrong-footed, guessing wrong, leaving his feet or just staying flat-footed at the wrong times. Towards the end tonight it looked like he might have started to figure Paolo out a little... unless that was just Paolo being tired.

Evan is in my avatar and I love the idea of what he could become. IF he ever gets there. For now it's probably best for him to stay in his lane and try to excel at his strength, which is from the restricted zone in, and maybe passing out of the pivot.
