Comping someone to KD is only fair if you do “poor man’s KD” and base it on rookie KD and not mid career KD.

Keeping in mind also that KD’s three point shooting sucked year one.

AD/Bosh is still probably the better comparison.

In this case comparing him to rookie KD in terms of fluidity makes him look even worse. KD as a rookie was very, very fluid.

Thing is, Mobley will need to also bulk up wisely, and that may, or may not impact his fluidity to the worse as well. It may not, you can't know, but usually big man suffer from it in that regard.. see Jonas Valanciunas, Bargnani, Dwight Howard. It could make him more explosive though as he clearly lacks muscle.

But KD was a 40% 3 point shooter in college. Such a silly comparison, KD might end his career as a top 5 player all time. Year 2 he was something like a 43% shooter form 3, year 1 was an anomaly getting used to the game, but still averaged 20 pts.

Like you, I am not sure its fair to compare anyone to KD, Lebron, or any top 5 players. Unicorns arent comparisons.

Mixture of Bosh/AD but closer to Bosh is the right comparison for Mobley...i have watched a ton of him in college, i was kind of obsessed with Mobley, still am. Still think he might be the best player of this draft in 5 years, but I agree comparing to a best all time player is silly.

While in some lineups they may have a challenge matching up with the opposing 3, the other team will have their own matchup challenge dealing with all that height at 3 spots. Ultimately, if their challenge is bigger than yours it can still work.

It's literally not about his game, but about his body. KD moves his feet really well and so does Mobley. They are light on their feet and move really well.

Too bad Mobley didn't do the agility drills at the combine. It would open some eyes I think and at least give us some numbers. He can change directions really quickly.

I just dont see him as a SF and I watched allot of Mobley. But who knows, we will see

Y'all are going to be so disappointed when the regular season starts and realize his handles, and what he can do with his handles, are on par with Okoro

I never said he was and it has nothing to do with his game. Larry can keep up with SFs defensively and Mobley can too. It's about footspeed and ability to shift your weight quickly

as as freshman, Durant averaged 25.8 PPG, 11.1 RPG, 1.3 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks per game. Shot 40% from 3 on six attempts per game. I could compare to Mobley, but wouldn’t want me to.

Not sure what you are think you are responding to because neither your nor Lee seem to grasp what I even said. Never said his game was remotely similar to Durant, I just said he can guard the 3.

I don't think you realize that people start typing before they finish reading. ;-)

Wasn’t directed at you in particular. Just wanted to provide context. Even though it was stated rudely.

That kid doesn't have enough black eyes to be asking God to make it stop. Unless we are to believe that he's been repeatedly raped by clowns, and his light is just a terrifying reminder.

I could see some lineups where Lauri and Mobley share the floor together if paired with Rubio, Sexton/Garland, and Okoro. Think they will need better effort on the perimeter from our young guards to save Lauri from being eaten alive at center. Still I'm not a fan of those two matching with more physical bigs, but I guess it is what it is.

Big no on all our bigs on the court at the same time.

The thing is what if Lauri is very good for the Cavs? People keep saying to eventually move him but the bench but if he becomes a star and somehow ignite the fire that once was during his rookie year when people thought he was the next Dirk. Then what?..

That's why the Cavs need to start Mobley at the 3.

But if Allen, Mobley and Lauri start, who’s our bigs off the bench? Kevin Love and Kabengele?
