Everyone's Top 10 Video game list!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Man some of you had some great lists.

1. Super Mario World- GOAT game for me. At some point I had as many points in the game possible as well as 999 lives. So many secrets and different Yoshis to unlock.

2. Mass effect (whole trilogy)- it's a little hard to separate these games from one another considering how they build on each other. I don't think there has been a series that came before or has come out since that accomplished what Mass Effect did in terms of narrative. Sure it might have stumbled a bit at the end but goddamn what a journey.

3. God of War 2018- love me some Kratos. But his first trilogy he was essentially an angry man literally too angry to die. The 2018 game helped to drive home how his actions weigh on his conscious, and introducing his son gave him something to protect, and lose. Also the prospect of murdering a whole new batch of gods is exciting.

4. Rocket League- I've been playing rocket league since the beta in 2015. It's just a fun game to hop on with friends or by yourself. I've sunk a lot of hours into it.

5. Skyrim- This game was my introduction to the Elder Scrolls world as I'm sure it was for a lot of people. I literally had to trade it in because I couldn't play it and spend time with my girlfriend at the time. Once we broke up I immediately went and picked it back up. Just a fun power fantasy game. Oh and dragons.

6. Starcraft/Starcraft Brood War- my introduction to RTS. This game was so good it basically became the national sport of South Korea.

7. Battlefield 3- I sunk a ridiculous amount of hours into this game, thanks to making so many friends online with it that I still talk to some today. I have purchased every battlefield since then (Hardline, 4, 5, and 2042) but nothing quite scratches the itch like 3 did.

8. Crash Bandicoot 3 Warped- Love me some Crash, this was the best of the OG trilogy. Crash was the king of Playstation back then. Cool powers that made platforming fun. Shoutout to Crash Team Racing as well.

9. Pokemon Crystal- I rode the bus for an hour and half one way just to get to school so my Gameboy was my lifeline. Pokemon Crystal took what was great about Silver and Gold and put it together. Someone restarted my game one time and I was absolutely devastated for weeks.

10. Stellaris- this game combines the political intrigue of Civilization with RTS combat. This game has changed so much since when it originally came out in 2016. Shit they just released a new DLC this week. Wanna pull a Palpatine and turn the galactic community into an empire? You can do that. Wanna form a Federation like in Star Trek? Or like the Dominion? You can do that. Want to destroy the galaxy by blowing up stars to power a doomsday machine? You can do that. If it's a Sci fi trope you can live out that fantasy.

Honorable mentions:
Super Smah Bros. Melee
Pikmin 2
Civilization 4
Jak and Daxter series
Spider-man

Hey, what’s your rank in Rocket League?

I’m always looking for teammates in casual/sometimes comp matches, west coast USA.

I haven’t owned a console after like ‘08, but I think all of these stand the rest of time pretty well despite the evolution in graphics. No particular order really, but these would be some of my favorites:

Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 - The hours I blew on this game as a teenager were pretty unimaginable. Basically everything about this game was flawless.

GTA San Andreas - still my favorite of the franchise

Roller Coaster Tycoon - This game was (and still is) so amazing. Hard to even explain. Just need to play it.

NBA/NFL 2K series on Dreamcast - For my money, these are hands down the best sports games ever made for consoles. I still think these games have the best player mechanics and gameplay to date.

Halo - not really much else to add here

Need for Speed Underground 2 - being released during the Fast & Furious hype definitely enhanced the appeal, but this was a really fun game to play and I certainly logged a ton of hours on it.

A lot of strategy involved in prox-battles. Example: you get surrounded by mines and there is no escape. So you have no choice but to sadly drop one at your own feet and wait your imminent demise because it’s better to take the -1 score rather than +1 your opponent. Deeply strategic.
Now that I remember I used to put proximity mines where opposing players spawn as a result they would at least die 3-4 times in a row when they spawn. Good times!

I forgot about nfs!

For people who like Super Mario, I thought this trailer is amazing. The animation, acting especially Bowser, the movie looks really awesome, the time they spent this past 7 years is phenomenal.

Star Lord as Mario is a bit goofy and takes me out of it (just a bit). Part of Mario's charm to me was always that Italian accent.

Looks absolutely phenomenal outside of that.

good idea for a thread @sportscoach

I grew up mostly plying Nintendo so my list is gonna reflect that

1. God of war: it gets the edge over TLOU bc the gameplay is just so good and addicting. One of the only games I ever 100’d

2. The last of us: best story game I have ever played. 2 was a let down but 1 was elite

3. Breathe of the wild: actually the first zelda game I ever played. Loved the open world and the fact that you can go right to Ganon at the beginning of the game (and get ur shit rocked)

4. Super Mario world/Mario 64: these count as one game. Don’t ask me why

5. Pikmin 3: if you’ve never played pikmin, give it a shot. Easily the least known game on my list but a super fun and addicting strategy game

6. Pokémon heart gold/soul silver: gold and silver were great and the remakes are even better

7. Madden: I feel like madden coming out every year and some of it’s obvious flaws have people taking it for granted. It’s still a great game and I love franchise mode

8. Zombies ate my neighbors: another game that’s probably lesser known. Hard to get ahold of now but fun and very hard game

9. super smash series (ultimate if have to pick 1)

10. Mario party series ( the original of picking 1)

11. Mario kart series (double dash if picking 1)

Maybe I missed it earlier in the thread, but one I didn’t see and is definitely in my personal top ten is Bioshock. The gameplay, the story, the twist, and the world were all top notch. My goodness the immersive world they created. I remember being so impressed when it came out. I haven’t replayed in a while though.

I have not played video games in forever.
These were the games I played the most that I can think from the top of my head...
1.) Return to Castle Wolfenstein (I could play forever in college)
2.) Street Fighter II Champion Edition
3.) NHL 95
4.) Tom Clancy Rainbow 6
5.) Aladdin SNES (it was a great game)
6.) Super Mario Kart
7.) Wipeout XL
8.) Any FIFA game
9.) Any Madden game
10.) NBA Jam

Abe's Odd World
