In the spirit of recognition during All Star Weekend we should put together two hypothetical teams consisting of “Falling Stars”. These would be players in decline that were either past all stars and / or had contracts bigger than Niang’s ass.

My first nominee for this game would be Brooklyn Nets Pointless Guard Ben Simmons. A multiple past all star, max contract guy who barely plays and when he plays he barely plays, he’s a lock for this game. I’ll make him a team captain.

My brother @The Human Q-Tip proposed Russell Westbrook but he’ll have to decide if he’s the right captain for his team.

I’ll take the next pick. Need a big man in the middle so I’ll take Andre Drummond. Dude made $28 million in his last season with the Cavaliers and he’s not worth anything like that.

Over to you Tip.

Everybody else feel free to help us out with potential team members. We’re happy to let everyone have some fun with this.

Oh and we both need coaches. I’m taking Doc. Won a ring, keeps blowing big leads in series, and I’m reuniting him with Ben which will be a thrill for them both.

Gordon Hayward

Simply has not been able to stay healthy after that gruesome leg injury during the first game of the 2017 season vs. the Cavs.

I’ve got Simmons and Drummond and he’s got Westbrook so the door is open for him to take a big man.

If it's a big man...I'm going with Kevin Love.

And on the "contract bigger than Niang's ass, I think Jordan Poole qualifies. I'm not sure his star ever got higher than an underpowered bottle rocket, but someone must have thought so.

Picking two in a row eh? I’ll allow it.

I’m taking another ex Cavalier - Derrick Rose. Somehow he’s still playing.

Since we’re picking two in a row I’ll take Gordon Hayward next.

Tip: Westbrook, Love, Poole

Brew: Simmons, Drummond, Rose, Hayward. Coach - Doc

The game is in great hands…

The NBA continues to amaze…Every year this product gets worse…

Putting Westbrook in the same breath with Ben Simmons is not right. Westbrook loves the game and works his ass off. Even if he's not efficient at it, still. Simmons shouldn't be in the NBA.

Andrew Wiggins, starting 3.

Wiggins was in my list. Another ex-Cavalier (he played Summer League for us, that counts).

I’ll take Klay Thompson. He’s been benched, he’s way overpaid, and he just deliberately fouled an opponent down 3 with 39 seconds to go. Not even Drummond would do that. Unfair of course to put him in this game but he qualifies and screw him for shooting off his mouth in the 2016 Finals. Plus being named to this team would REALLY piss him off and that’s always fun.

I wish we could bring Bynum (Andrew not Will) out of retirement for this

The guy I’d want to bring back is Andrew Bogut. #1 overall pick and he literally fell in less than a minute playing for us. Plus he’s an ex-Warrior and for some reason we’ve drafted a bunch of ex-warriors and ex-Cavaliers.

The all time fallen star has to be Derrick Coleman. Or Simmons.
