Farewell, Timofey Mozgov

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Looks like Lebron is going Red Giant phase with that setup. He will be the PG essentially with plenty of Leiso and Kyiso. 2-3 years and then we liquidate in a rebuild.

And I wouldn't expect anything less outlook wise from you.

The top 8 on this team is all 30 or under
LeBron, Love, Kyrie, Shumpert, Mozgov, Tristan, JR, Delly, Harris

Yet you'd think we're trading lottery picks and young players for 37 year old Antawn Jamison and 38 year old Shaq reading though the board.

Let's be honest: It is a bit of a panic move.

At least we have Mozgov for cheap next year. Five million for Mozgov >> 10 million for Andy.

It puts Tristan back on the bench. And gives Love more room to go outside.

It'll make us a better team.

I wish we escaped with giving up 1 first. But we didn't exactly have a ton of leverage either.

Our chips are in the center of the table now.

Team is drastically improved, but remains to be seen if it will be enough.

This was our home run deal though because we are plum out of assets at this point except for the bad contract we can take back in place of Haywood this summer.

Wouldn't be shocked to see Price waived in the event they are able to snag O'Neal or Dalembert, too.

Can't believe it took this long, but putting Futuredome on ignore was long overdue. :chuckle: Sayonara.

You mad? Lebron is going to have to exert much effort in this setup and play a lot being the primary playmaker. He wants the title. He is going for it now. 2-3 years from now, between his age and expense, a rebuild will commence. Gilbert knows this, Lebron knows this.

Irving
Shumpert
James
Love
Mozgov

That lineup has balance and fit. Assuming we can get everyone back, that's really tough to play against. The superb offense will still exist, as Mozgov and Shumpert are still legitimate offensive players. Neither is a stopper in his own right, but both make up for deficiencies on the defensive end.

This leaves Tristan, Marion, and Delly as the key reserves. JR Smith hopefully has his head on straight and can return to being a legit 6th man. Mike Miller is around, but I don't know where his minutes will come from.

In all honesty, I hope we see some experimentation with Shumpert playing, "point guard," while LeBron is on the floor and Kyrie sits. Throw JR Smith in there as well, and you don't have to put up with 25 minutes of Delly every night. He's very good in smaller doses, but he gets exposed with big minutes.

If we want to be honest with ourselves, we'd probably fuck up the picks anyway. So in reality, we got Smith, Shumpert and Mozgov for failed and future failed Cavs experiments.

Opinion of NBA writers on Twitter so far seems to be positive. Interesting to see the trade grades here.

We're giving up two heavily protected first round picks. Not sure why anyone is freaking out.

In 24 hours we just turned Dion Waiters and 1 additional draft pick in to 3 guys who fill glaring holes in our roster.

For **** sake, go grab a beer and just soak it all in.

Can we still grab Dalembert off waivers? Not sure how cap checks out. He can't be any worse then Haywood at the moment...

If we could still add Dalembert, I would be happy with the roster completely for the rest of year. We may not have the money to satisfy him though.
