I wanted to share an experience I had that I think every fan would enjoy. I was given my first opportunity to attend the attend the Cavs-Wizards game on November 20th, 2013 as a member of the media representing RealCavsFans.com. I don’t know about you, but this is something that I have dreamed about doing my whole life. I have always been curious to get a look behind the scenes and discover what goes on before, during and after an NBA game.
As I was driving home from work, I kept thinking about how the rest of the night at Quicken Loans Arena was going to go down. After making my way downtown and parking my car, I walked to the media entrance to the arena. Who walks in with me? Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon Journal. I was pretty nervous and felt like the new kid in school. I really didn’t want to let on that I had no idea what I was doing, so I observed everyone I saw and tried to act like I had been doing this my whole life.
After making it through security I was told to head down to the court level to the media room where Mike Brown would be holding a pregame press conference. I think I walked around the whole stadium once before a security guard pointed me in the right direction. I found the press conference and starting walking towards the door when an employee told me to hurry up. As I hurried to the door the employee said “Coach Brown is right behind you.” I looked behind me and sure enough, Mike Brown walked right in after me all cool, calm and collected.
