Game 1, Cavs vs. Celtics, Wednesday, 27 October 2010, 7pm EDT

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I was at the game. One moment stood out to me.

In the 4th quarter, right around the time Nate and Shaq got their and Antwan got his back-to-back floaters, there were a few, spontaneous "Let's Go Cavs!" chants. Not contrived, scoreboard driven, "we better win this game cause if we dont we might not get homecourt and might make the Finals and then LeBron will leave," chant. It was because we wanted to cheer, "Lets Go Cavs!".

Also, Shaq got 2 nice ovations, one as he came out of the locker room(he was a few minutes behind the rest of the team), and a really nice one when he got introduced. When one of our players leaves in a non-douchy way, we aren't bitter.

edit - Also, as I was walking out, I saw a Celtics fan, walked up to him, and loudly said, "Thanks for beating Miami last night". Everyone got a good laugh.

Quick note... I was at the game, and not sure if anyone said this yet, but the crowd was OUTSTANDING. VERY Loud, and without prompting usually. It was easily as packed, loud, and energetic as any playoff game I've been to in the last few years.

So proud of our city right now.

Love that, we gotta maintain it because the players feed off of it. We really need to be the 6th man out there for these guys.

Seriously has BSPN even mentioned that we won yet?

First year I won't get bored watching the Cavs play in a long time. Our style in the past was down right slow and painful to watch. I am glad I kept my league pass already.

Amazing what a game like that can do. Not just that it was a win, but the crowd excitement, the players' guts. I expected some kind of cleansing, but this was terrific.

Just got back to the game... all I can say is WOW!

What a performance from top to bottom! I don't think I have ever been more proud to be a Cavs fan. Amazing what a real team can do when a team plays together and has a coach (Sorry Mike Brown) that can actually make in game decisions.

Oh and here I am walking out with Samardo:

I recorded another video on today's broadcast... too bad it wasn't in HD

Daniel Gibson was big tonight. He started off 0-7 and it just didn't look like it was going to be his night, but he's fearless and kept on going after it and made some big plays in the 2nd half.

We were down 66-55 in the 3rd and Gibson either scored or assisted on 22 of our next 27 points on a run that gave us a 82-79 lead.

On the play boobie made his first shot, right before he made the move to get the ball, my wife yelled to him "We need you Boobie" loud enough for him to hear.

Fourth quarter was amazing after the 8 minute mark. Just constant noise.

Also proud to say that my section in Loudville was responsible for a few of those Let's Go Cavs chants! Upper deck row 17 baby!

Ryan Hollins typifies what's great about this team. A guy that's basically been written off, who doesn't have the talent of some elite big men in this league, but who played his heart out tonight with hustle and passion, getting in the right position and making smart basketball plays. This is what I was excited about all summer. I'm loving it.

Only could catch last few minutes of the game because of work,i had goose bumps the whole time watching the crowd cheer for The Cavs,It was freakin awesome,so happy the season has started!

Nice win..When the Celts when on a slight run,I got concerned..but that 4th quarter was grit time..glad they pulled it out..
Nice to win the opener and beat the team that beat LeQuit's team..

Is it safe to say that the Cavs are still a great 4th quarter team?! They can still get it done without LeBenedict. They did it with hustle, desire, intensity and conditioning last night. One of the best wins that I can remember...

I was at the game last night...and that was a GREAT win for us. The first half the crowd seemed apprehensive a bit (kind matched the players in that sense)...but in the 4th Q the place was rocking. I have been one of the biggest "optimists" on these boards lately. You saw some of the reason's why last night. We can play some D. AV is a great player. Gibson is MUCH better all around player than he gets credit for, I will say this again, he has a LOT of Chauncey Billups in him--same career arc also. You could see the confidence with some of the players in the pre-season games and it carried over. The three headed monster of Mo-Sessions-Gibson is going to cause a lot teams problems. Our bigs played fantastic--JJ started off as good as you can get, AV's all around D, boarding were great and Hollins played BIG for us. I really like our bigs this year. Jamario early on, passed up quite a few open looks, but as he settled in, he hit some big shots as well. All around great effort by everyone.
