Theres a dfiffrerence between saying he sucked and he shouldnt of started, I personally think Scott should of played him 5-10 games before starting him. I still maintain 25-30 wins is achievable for this team. you cant really bash people for critiquing irving on one game and turn around and state "see i told ya they wouldnt win this year".. heh the irony.

I want whatever your smoking!! This team is not that good of a team plus 25-30 wins means we would be on the fringe of the playoffs! There is no way they get that close you better temper your expectations for this year or it's gonna be a long year for you!

If Sessions keeps playing like this, he'll be nice trade bait as well. Seems he has been working on his shot selection and jumper.

Atleast keep Sessions, have him play #2 and get rid of Parker.

tonight's Game

The Good - Our bench was solid - Sessions, Tristan and alonzo Gee played well - Boobie played well in the 2nd half - we got to the line alot
The Bad - watching Jamison trying to carry the offense. Hollins getting stuffed at the rim at least 3 times
The Ugly - our Pick and Roll defense, Casspi playing tight and Parker starting .AP hit two early 3's and then his usual disappearing act

Can we at least wait to analyze players for a week? It's just one game. Anybody can be 1-15 or 14-15 in game 1. Even players like JR Bremer can score 20+ points in its first game and people will say he's god.

I'll just say it is nice to have a traditional PG once again and I can't wait to see his development.

ok so i want to break down the game a little.

wild thing: great to see his movement and hustle easily the cavs best player.

gee: generally played well and apart from a few silly mistakes made the most of his chances, looked like and NBA player and played ok D.

Sessions: tunnel vision has got worse since he declared himself a 3 point shooter. Missed gibson wide open for 3 on 4 occasions in the first half.

casspi: got lost in the offense a few nice hustle plays, just needs to relax and get more looks

jamison: took way too many shots, missed open team mates on numerous occasions, whoever he guarded killed us on the offensive glass. cant wait for him to be traded

gibson: ignored by session and poor defensively.

hollins: only player to lead with the ball on a dunk making it easy to block. Hopefully this is the most minutes he plays all season

TT: played like ed davis, hustled got to the line and hit his FT's tried to dunk everything. This is his floor and its a great place to start. Got lost a few time on defense so it will be interesting to see how long it is until he can make an impact on that end.

irving: shot badly, but didnt force up many shots, played with composure on offense, could of had 13 assists if players had made the easy layups he got them. Needs to keep his live dribble to avoid getting over pressured but handled the pressure well. great in transition but sometimes tried to do a bit too much with the ball. Showed a nice floater after he got blocked a few times. defensively he was very poor on handling the screens and jose got round him way too easily, got knows what russel westbrook will do. lots of what people will criticise about his game is easily fixed with experience.

overall the cavs in general are a poor defensive and rebounding team so if they cant improve thoe areas then they will probably round out the season with about 16 wins

Draft 2012 here we come...

Anyways TT looked better then what anybody expected on offense. Probably the most pleaseant surprise of the first NBA game this season

Kyrie has to work on his defense, he looked terrible guarding Calderon. Not sure how we are going to survive with him on better PG´s...

this just in golden state beat the bulls... that means golden state wins the championship right?
Jamison should be taking 12-15 shots game. not sure why Scott is insistent he take 20 +. (scott tried to get hickson to take 20+ when jamison was injured but if jamison is going to take that many shots it should be out of the half court offense not as soon they get down the court.

Really though if your going to put varejao on the pf you need to just take jamison out and put in hollins or samuels at the 5

Gee played well, however I would like to see Eyenga getting some consistent burn.

Please for the love of god stop playing Ryan Hollins. Samardo played really well in the preseason. He deserves some playing time.

Ugly game..which leads me to say no matter what talent level Cleveland has ,they never look ready to play the opener even against other teams with little talent.

Re: Game 1, Raptors @ Cavs, Monday, 26 Dec 2011, 7:00pm EDT

Jamison always seem dumb to me. I know the dude had 50 pts games and all. But something about him ain't right. I thought Ramon is a scrub but he is actually semi-decent.

Re: Game 1, Raptors @ Cavs, Monday, 26 Dec 2011, 7:00pm EDT

I don't care about Kyrie's shooting, he has a nice shot. It's not like his mechanics are horrible and he shoots a knuckleball. First game jitters most likely. However he made Calderon look like Derrick Rose when he put the ball on the floor. You can see he's still use to HS and College where you can arm guard and not move your feet. He was consistently left in the dust, gotta guard with your feet and move your whole body.

Thompson looked nice, he looked like he could do 15 and 10 this year in a starting role. If he develops a jumper that kid could be really nice. Hopefully Jamison starts lighting it up and ups his trade value so we can make room for Thompson.

For the most part everyone looked soft. And if we looked soft against the Toronto Raptors....doesn't bode well for the season. Hollins got rejected like 4 times. Although a few were fouls if the refs aren't calling it then start delivering punishment when you go up. Casspi was invisible out there.

It was still a fun game to watch, but we need to be more physical or we're going to be leaving a lot of points out there as well as giving up a ton.

Re: Game 1, Raptors @ Cavs, Monday, 26 Dec 2011, 7:00pm EDT

Hate to play this game, but...

Kyrie missed at least 4 open jumpers. Say he makes those (1 of which was a three). He also would have had at least 3 more assists had Jamison not been building the world's greatest brick house. Say Jamison makes those, suddenly, we're looking at a 15-10 and 1 TO line from Irving and everyone is talking about how great he played.

My point is, the results aren't going to be the things we should take away from this season. This season is more about the process than it is the endgame. We need to remember that.

Re: Game 1, Raptors @ Cavs, Monday, 26 Dec 2011, 7:00pm EDT

Did anyone here get tix via Groupon? That shit was bananas! Mass confusion! Girl (18+) in front of me was BAWLING from the stress alone. Totally worth it though, cause in the midst of all the hysteria they were just passing out tickets w/out looking at em and I ended up w/lower bowl tix even though I paid for the upper-level deal!!! :king:

Anyways, Tristan looked like a boss. Every time there was a loose ball you just felt like he was going to find his way to it. Did watch him shooting some 12 footers warming up at halftime and DID NOT LOOK GOOD. Out of 8 shots I saw he was 1/8 with some very bad misses and one airball. Hopefully he's just at the point where he's more focused on technique than actually getting the ball in the bucket...

Re: Game 1, Raptors @ Cavs, Monday, 26 Dec 2011, 7:00pm EDT

Jamison killed the game. If Kevin Durant takes 20 shots and make only 6 you can say "well it was a bad day for an MVP-scoring champ-world beater" type a guy. So we lost. But what is the rational behind letting a has-been dominate your offense like that? He is setting a terrible example on a team with so many young players. You expect a seasoned vet to show some restrain and show the kids how to "play the right way" - that coaches' saying I find overused, but hey, it is true in this case. Sorry for over posting but I'm really hating Jamison right now. I can't even remember I'm from Toronto and have been a raptors fan for nearly 15 years. I'm thinking about the Cavs and my boy Omri. The Raptors are very soft mentally due to Calderon and Bargnani. You just need to press them and beat them up a bit. This was indeed a winnable game but having Twan on your team makes you play 4 on 6.
