GAME 11 | Cavs vs Nets | Nov. 18, 2008 | 7:30 PM

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
That is becoming a trend, we don't seem to play D in the first half but really turn up the pressure in the second half.
Its like we coast on D in the 1st,then put the clamps on em in the 2nd.....Our D something serious tho:thumbup:

The way we played tonight and have been playing, I am not worried about Detroit. Our chances of beating them are good.

Im hopin big ben has a good game tomorrow, we NEED good bench play if were going to beeat detriot and yes that includes wally.

I think that is a legit strategy. Try to stay in it the 1st half and see if you can keep up with what they dish, and then lock down on them the 2nd half and give it all you've got. Really messes with teh pace of the game. We are way more able because of our depth to call the pace of the game.

Nice win! If we play like we did the second half, we can't be beat.

Two things I noticed:

1) Could you tell if the New Jersey fans were cheering or booing Lebron and his points today? I couldn't. A lot of "oohs and aaahs". Keep dreaming Nets fans...

2) The refs were terrible, not because of the questionable calls in the first half, but because they couldn't make up their minds on anything. How many calls required a huddle? Do Nets fans need another reason to nap during a game?

2.5) Delonte was absolute money today. 4/4 from beyond and he had a sweet stroke for his other shots too. Any questions I had on him as a shooting guard are officially being laid to rest with his play this year.

Time for Camakazee's neat-o stat of the night,

We're Going Streaking!

- With this win the Cavs improve to 9-2 on the season and expand their winning streak to eight. Someone asked earlier, and the longest winning streak of last season was a five game winning streak during January.

Icanhasgoodstartingbackcourt?

- Starting point guard Mo Williams and starting 2 guard Delonte West combined for 32 points, 11 rebounds, 7 assists, and 3 steals, lending most of their collective helping hand in the 3rd quarter, connecting for 6 threes. If only we still had Snow and Hughes

Resting, resting, 1-2-3...

- This is only the third time LeBron has played only 31 minutes or less and recorded at least 29 poin... wait, Mike Brown put him back in? Son of a...

Ahem...

- This is only the sixth time LeBron has recorded 31 or more points in 35 minutes or less. **** Mike Brown you're killing me!

Either way it's nice to see LeBron's minutes down dramatically compared to the last few seasons. Also, Ben Wallace is looking very productive in limited minutes, gathering 8 rebounds, 4 blocks, and a steal tonight in 26 minutes.

Slow First, Stronnngggggg Second.

For the third straight game the Cavs have come out too relaxed in the first only to show their food they were toying with them all along. In the past 3 games the Cavs have allowed at least 50 points in the first half, while limiting their opponents to 40 or less points in the second half. The breakdowns look like this:

Vs Denver: 1st half, -3... 2nd half, +14
Vs Utah: 1st half, -7... 2nd half, +19
Vs New Jersey: 1st half, -3... 2nd half +27

Glad to see we put that 3rd quarter glitch behind us and turned our collective attention towards 2nd half blowouts.

View from the other side.

Coveted shooting-guard Vince Carter came down from his Atlanta high, recording only 12 points on 3/12 shooting, fouling out in 34 minutes.

The so-so defense in the first half, I think, is partly intentional - see what the other team's trying - and partly Mike Brown's lack of preparation during the season. But tonight, the defense wasn't terrible in the first half - we weren't taking care of the ball and we were committing some silly fouls, and those equaled easy points for NJ.

Nice call putting Delonte on Devin Harris. Really helped quite a bit. Contained Harris, pretty much shut down VC. What else was left?

I asked. We dominated the Netsm, and are already dominating he league. I hope we keep it up and if we do i'd give us the 1 seed in the East.

Good win, a lack of energy in the first half by most of the team though. But we stayed close and turned it up in the second half like we have been doing so far this season. Another strong 3rd quarter which is always good to see. Everybody got to play today, and i was happy to see Pavs give us some very productive minutes. Pavs actually might be very valuable to us as the season goes on as a defender off the bench with some size. I had a feeling Brown was gonna give him some extra pt this game because of the match up of West on Carter. Mo had another strong game shooting 6 of 11 for 16 points along with 6 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal and shot 3 of 4 from 3. West is still on fire and Boobie is slowly getting his stroke back from 3.

For 3 quarters this team just plays with there opponents and when it counts, game over.

Another ridiculous run with bron on the bench.
