- G Christian Eyenga scored 12 points and had three rebounds and three assists in the Erie BayHawks' 109-71 win over Springfield in the NBA Development League opener Friday. All three of the Cavs rookies could spend some time in the D-League this season. Eyenga just needed to get on the court and play. It was evident he wasn't going to get minutes with the Cavs right now. F/C Samardo Samuels and G Manny Harris could also spend some time in Erie.
- F Joey Graham, one of the team's most physical players, wears a wristband that reads: "Be cool, go crazy."
- "I'd like to bring that intimidating factor, that toughness," he said. "A lot of guys are intimidated by that presence. They don't want you in their space. They don't want to be uncomfortable. I try to make them uncomfortable."
- He likened himself to Lakers swingman Ron Artest. "He gets in guys' faces," Graham said. "He hits guys when they don't want to be hit. I bring that kind of presence out there. My mom says you have to be a little crazy to play basketball."
- Cavs coach Byron Scott said he's not entertained any thoughts of replacing F J.J. Hickson in the starting lineup. "I know he can play better," he said. "I expect more, and I'm sure he does as well." Hickson has been benched for the entire fourth quarter in the last three games. He finished with six points and five rebounds in 23 minutes Saturday.
