Keys to the Game

Make no mistake... this is the war between my two worlds:
I love the Warriors - not nearly as much as the Cavs - but I follow them very closely.

*Maggette (hamstring) and Azubuike (coach wasn't specific) were reportedly "banged up" on Nellie's radio show.
*Nellie never uses a set rotation. He looks over his full bench and tries to create offensive mismatches.
*He plays Maggette at the PF to create speed mismatches. Take note, Wally!
*You can throw thier PER and +/- ratios out the window now that they traded a zero (Harrington) for a hero (Crawford).
*Jamal Crawford is a Cavs Killer, but he doesn't have any chemistry with this team yet, and they have no playmaker who can get him involved quickly. We are playing them at the right time.
*Stephen Jackson is Nellie's man-to-man security blanket. Expect him to match up agaisnt LeBron for every minute The King is on the floor.
*Many Cavs fans love Azubuike, but he and Maggette are black holes. When they have the ball, its going up.
*Expect plenty of quick jump shots from the Warriors... its their bread and butter.
*When Nellie needs a break from the chuck-a-thon, he gives CJ Watson some minutes. Last game, Crawford and Jackson split most of the point duties.
*They are used to Biedrins cleaning up their mess with offensive rebounding, but our bigs can easily clean it up on the boards against these guys.
*Any team that starts Maggette at power forward is playing with fire against a big front line like ours.
*The local press used to give Nellie hell for not playing his younger players. Post-trade, Nellie is starting to catch hell for not playing Turiaf.

The only statistic you need to know

*The Warriors are 2-6 on the road.
*The Cavs are 8-0 and undefeated at home.

I know you're still working on it Randolph but goddamn the pictures you have so far are making me laugh.

Incredible:

I want Ben to bring back the Jules Winfield look :yay:

I nominate this as "Best game thread of the 2008-2009 season". And yes, that includes all future game threads.

Sometimes I feel like gamethreads are written for little childeren with that many visuals :chuckles:
Even a 4 years old can understand them this way...

hopefully we get a little more exciting game than these last few

Many use photoshop and flashy images to make their game threads. You just go for simple and funny.

Good job without any of the shiny stuff.

Oh, and:

I don't think we will blow the Warriors out, at least not early on. They play similar to the Knicks but play slightly more defense and are better shooters. Still, I don't think we should have too many problems, especially if we continue to play so sound on both ends.

Yeah, I don't have photoshop anymore... I had it on my old laptop, but it died last spring. If this humorous but non-professional style of game thread gets tiresome, please let me know and I will gladly give a few of my west coast gamethread assignments to someone with better software.

BTW Akronite: nice job on the film clip... I thought of looking one up on youtube, but got lazy. You found the perfect one!

I actually had to look a little, because the first clip had the sound way off.

And since plenty of people are doing game threads, it doesn't hurt to have one like this every once in a while where you can just have a little fun with it.

Trap game. I predict we lose.

Trap game. I predict we lose.

Boston played the way Warriors wanted them to play and they were nearly losing the game.

We should lower the tempo, play our defense and we will get it done.

The starters are doing as great job out of the blocks. Continue that and the Warriors are toast.

we will win but not easily....They have good scorers like Jamal,Corey,Stephen and good old Biedrins..So Cavs must play hard if they want to beat them.....

I predict a 105-92 Cavaliers win woot woot
