Game 20 | Cleveland vs Milwaukee | December 6th, 2009 | 3:00pm EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I don't know if it was mentioned yet, but on ESPN, they pointed out that this classless free-agency feeding organization actually played "New York, New York" during the introduction.

Well guess what? Fuck off, when Jennings is up for free-agency.
The best player they have resigned since Fonzie hung out with Laverne and Shirley is Michael "IR"edd.

No, no, no... the Bucks will trade him to save money before he gets to FA.

It isn't like we played the intro to Laverne and Shirley in the later years, when they went to Hollywood, when Lou Alcindor became a Laker. WTF?

Most Cleveland basketball fans have no idea what a center provides offensively. Most of my posts from 2002 to 2006 were a futile attempt to change this problem.

:chuckles:

So true, so true.

The cop just laughed at that dumb buck. Amazing.

Classic John Wooden offense, baby! This is why I didn't criticize the Magic for cutting ties with Hedo and matching the Mavs offer for Gortat: you need to control the paint in the playoffs... and controlling the paint doesn't always show up in the box score. When both Gortat and Howard are in foul trouble, the Magic fall apart.

Stat geeks can crunch all the numbers in the world, but there is no measurable for what a physically dominating center provides. All they do is win help teams win playoff games.

Yes. The same isn't true for the Cavs. If Shaq and Z get into foul trouble, they won't fall apart; well gee; the Magic only have Andy, JJ, and LeBron left to defend in the front court. :dunno:

Powe knows what he is doing as well.

Full agreement. Battie gave the Magic a third player who could set picks, make shots when left undefended, defend the hoop, and essentially quarterback the defense in short bursts. Bass is a nice rebounder who attacks the paint, but he has a ways to go on the "little things" Varejao provides.

As long as politics never come up, I'm starting to dig this DougHeil cat.

... So what the hell will we look like next year, when Shaq and Z might not be back?

You just can't appreciate having not only a 7 footer with offensive skills, but TWO who can switch off for 48 minutes. Add the fact that one makes a living off post ups and the other off picks and rebounds and you really can't appreciate it enough.

I'm glad that Andy is here for a while, but I really want us to keep having a low post option.

Oh well, we'll cross that bridge next year when it comes, but meanwhile, let's keep appreciating having the team Ferry worked tooth and nail to put up to humiliate the Bucks.

Shaq joined fine company of Kwame Brown and Mark Blount yesterday...according to ESPN:

"Over the last 10 seasons, only two other starting centers were minus-15 or worse in a victory of 15 or more points: Kwame Brown for the Lakers in 2006 (minus-15 in a 111-94 win over the Timberwolves); and Mark Blount for the Celtics (minus-16 in a 113-98 win over the Nets)."

And let me add that I'm fully aware we have much better chance to win in the playoffs with Shaq on the team and that he still can be very dominant at times.

LOL I'm able to separate politics from sports. Heck; I so separate it as I don't remember who wrote what or when if I'm reading and posting to a sports thread. I see the other topics forum as a totally place than the sports forums. Just because I may think a member is full of it in politics, doesn't mean I don't think he truly gets it with sports. Anyhoo; there are a number of members who I love reading about sports, but despise reading about politics. Most of the time, I love reading Randolphkeys about sports. :)

That is cool. It was really crazy how bad they shot, but they had no opportunities in the paint. I hope this defensive intensity holds up.
