News & Notes:

- The Cavaliers are trying to start 2-0 on the road for the 1st time since the 2000-2001 season. They went on to win a total of 10 road games that season.

- The Pacers are looking to start 2-0 in the Central Division for the 1st time since the 2004-2005 season.

- Ramon Sessions has scored 10+ points in 47 of his last 54 games, averaging 16.2 points and 5.9 assists on 48.6% shooting over that span.

- The Pacers have won 8 of their last 9 home games vs the Eastern Conference, including their last 4 vs the Central Division.

- Over the past 3 seasons, Antawn Jamison has torched the Pacers, averaging 23 points & 8 rebounds over 9 games, while shooting 51.7% from the field & 50.0% from behind the arc.

Keys to the Game:

- Stay on the glass: The Pacers are +15 on the glass thus far, and +11 on the offensive glass. The Cavaliers need to hold Indiana to 1 shot & limit the # of looks they get per possession.

- Offensive Execution: The Pacers have held their 1st 2 opponents to 82.0 PPG on 41% shooting, while forcing 17.5 TO per game, including forcing the usual turnover free Jose Calderon to commit 3 himself.

- Defend the Perimeter: Indiana has struggled shooting the basketball thus far.... from inside the arc, shooting just 36.5% inside the 3pt line. However, they have been very good from behind the arc, shooting 45.2%.

Good thing the cavs have been practicing forcing their own turnovers. Indiana wont know what hit them

Creepy? Conseco Fieldhouse is one of the best arena in the NBA. It has a nice mix of old school and new school. I love the windows like an old college arena.

Now it's called Bankers Life Fieldhouse how generic

Re: Game 3, Cavs @ Pacers, Friday, 30 Dec 2011, 7:00 EDT

I don't care what it's called -- the Pacers arena is a great place to watch a game. Convenient location, easy parking, etc. Very expansive as you walk in (it has this kind of atrium that is really nice). Seats and sightlines are comfortable, and they haven't tried to shove too many seats together. To their detriment, the arena is too big to be really loud. The details are old-fashioned in certain ways (or classic if you prefer to call them that), and very modern in others. Terrible entertainment at breaks and at half-time (seriously, it was kind of like going to a local fair), but very homey at the same time. Decent selection of typical arena foods at okay prices -- not exorbitant.

The court, the seats, the scoreboard -- all of that was really pleasant, especially for an out of town fan. You can bash the Pacers but that arena is different and pretty cool. It's not as good as Camden Yards in baseball but it has similar aims and has a similar old-school/new-school vibe. So much more distinctive than other arenas. Have been to many, and a lot of them feel pretty much the same. Feels like a special and different event in Indianapolis. Recommended if you're ever there. On the plus side for visiting teams, the arena doesn't seem to give the home team any special advantage -- the sound radiates outward instead of at the court.

the pacers are much better this year and are probably second in the division talent wise behind the Bulls with the addition of West and Collison

this will be one of the first real tests for these young Cavs

will be interesting to see how Casspi defends Granger and whether Irving can build on his performance in the Pistons game

Tyler Hansbrough is actually playing very well. He is a high energy guy, ala Andy. The Pacers did some nice adjusting this year.

That's exactly it. The windows make it feel like it should be in some 80's thriller movie.

Bravo.. Loved the Tyley Hansbrough line.. Seriously Indy used to have 14 white guys on their roster. WTF happened?
