Game #34 Cleveland Cavaliers (19-14) vs. Dallas Mavericks (24-10) 1/04/14 1:00 PM EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I get more exciting watching the tostitos commercial than this shitty team

How do you figure? This team has three main options on offense, Dion gets the leftovers, and then everyone else gets the leftovers of the leftovers.

Wiggins is allowed to go through all the growing pains he needs to with that young core around him. No way would he be allowed to do it here on a team that came into the season with championship expectations.

Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled to see him doing well in Minnesota and I hope he blossoms into a star. But that is a completely different situation over there.

Besides Kyrie, who else would you rather have the offense run through if LeBron was out? I was pretty much referring to a scenario where LBJ was out 2 weeks on a Cavs roster than didn't have Love and still had Wiggins, Bennett, et al. Dion would be chucking shots but to be honest Wiggins has been more efficient of a player than Dion has lately. Wiggins has scored 20+ in 5 of his last 6, he only did that 4 times in his first 26 games. Bad team or not, I'd love to have someone like him on my roster right now.

I'm not here to debate the roster. But seeing as this game had Griffin on the broadcast for an extended period of time, discussion of his job as GM was sure to come up in this game thread, which became another stinker.

In that scenario it's a little more plausible. I thought you were referring to the roster the Cavs have now. Even still, LeBron doesn't come here without the promise of Kevin Love, so if you get Wiggins then you don't have LeBron or Love on this team, period. That was the arguably the biggest part of their sales pitch to bring him back in the first place.

I won't argue that it would be preferable to have Wiggins on this team instead of Dion. In fact, I was really, really hoping they would move Bennett and Dion for Love instead of Wiggins and Bennett, but it just wasn't meant to be. That being said, hindsight is a wonderful thing and it is always 20/20.

I've been watching all Wiggins games it's crazy how good he is when aggressive. He's been showing he has a post game this season too.

I sort of penciled in this loss before I saw the game, barring someone playing out of their mind on the Cavaliers side.

Not much positives to take away from another home loss and in a dominating factor that it took place in, but I did see 2 offensive outs that has me intrigued moving forward.

Obviously, the answer is Love. I wanted to see this squad with Love the number one offensive option and today he looked to get up his shot in a variety of ways, I liked the fact he didn’t settle and he had his best offensive outing as a Cavalier with 30.

Also, honorable mention to Marion off the bench, perhaps going against his former team was a factor. All I know is he had 13 off the bench and a lot were with the hustle plays to be at the right place at the right time, usually under the basket.

Please don’t take the Sixers for granted, I want to see nothing short of a blowout to keep my sanity. If you play this game like you did the one you just finished, you win by 15+.

Well. Glad I slept in (West Coaster).

Wow Wiggins is looking good... Progressing quickly it looks like. Some of those moves are filthy

Wiggins would have looked great standing around for 21 seconds watching LBJ pound the ball into the ground only to drive and get swallowed up before dishing it to Wiggins with 2 on the shot clock and Andrew having to hoist a contested 3 ball

At least he wouldn't have looked like a turnstile on defense like the guy we are about to max out who gives up as many points as he scores (if not more).

Besides, you're assuming we couldn't have kept Wiggins and gone out and gotten someone like Gasol who only makes $7 million a year and would do far more for this team than Love as far as making us real title contenders for less than half the money (and a 1/3 of the money the next 2 years after Love's extension).

There were alot of different ways to skin a cat that didn't involve trading a major piece for a 1 way player.

But why doesn't lebron shows up to the game at least

Excerpt from a Griffin interview conducted Sunday morning from an article posted at ESPN, written by Dave Memenamin:

On LeBron James’ injury status:

Griffin: “Our medical team made the determination that he would not attend either of the next two games. He is on a protocol of rest and therapy. Wednesday he will be seen by the team again. That will be the one-week mark of his particular protocol and we will assess where we stand. I would think that it’s safe to say that the two weeks was a legitimate timeline as laid out by the medical team, but it’s not hard and fast, so if it’s a little bit less or it’s a little bit more, that’s not alarm. It’s just how things are progressing.”

man, i know this is the frustrstion talking but we could have had a young upcoming roster before lbj decided to return.. the cavs might squeak inthe playoffs but the long term potential is greater than this current squad.. kyrie/wiggins/hayward/tt/hawes.. that is a balanced young fast team.. the cavs traded away long term potential to a win now mode.. what could have been..

sigh..

Ugh, how were we pulling this off? Charlotte signed Hayward to the largest offer sheet possible, and Utah matched. So.....
