• Darko Milicic is out (fractured right hand) 4-6 weeks.
• OJ Mayo is day-to-day (hip pointer).

Cavalier Notes

• Cleveland has gone 28-4 (.875) in their last 32 games and at 29-6, leads the Eastern Conference and 2nd in the NBA (Los Angeles Lakers, 30-6) for the best record in the league.

• The team ranks 1st in overall opponent points allowed per game, allowing only 89.0 and is the only team to average under 90.0 points.

• Cleveland ranks 1st in defensive field goal percentage, allowing opponents to only shoot .420 from the field.

• Cleveland ranks 2nd in the NBA (Milwaukee) at forcing turnovers at 16.0 per game and in converting points off turnovers, averaging 19.4 per game (Los Angeles).

• The Cavs rank 3rd in the NBA (Portland, Boston) in opponent rebounding, holding teams to only 38.1 rebounds per game.

• The team ranks 2nd in the NBA (Phoenix) in offensive field goal percentage at .480.

• The team ranks 3rd in the NBA (New Orleans, Boston) in least points allowed in the paint at 34.7 points per game.

• LeBron James is currently shooting career-bests .508 from the field and .788 from the free throw line.

• Anderson Varejao scored 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds on Friday. In his last seven games, Varejao is averaging 13.0 points on .586 (34-58) and 9.4 rebounds per game. In seven starts this season, Varejao is averaging 15.0 points on .569 (41-72) and 8.4 rebounds per game.

• The remainder of the team’s January schedule includes eight of 10 games against Western Conference opponents and six of the next seven games on the road. The Cavaliers have won nine of their first 10 games against Western Conference teams this season. The last time the
franchise achieved this was the 1996-97 season. The team is currently 10-6 on the road, which is tied for 5th in the NBA.

Grizzlies Notes

• Memphis has lost seven of the last eight meetings, including the last five, to the Cavaliers after winning five of six.

• The Grizz are 6-8 vs. Cleveland since moving to Memphis, including a 4-3 home record.

• The Grizzlies’ last win against the Cavs came on Nov. 5, 2005, while the club has not won in Cleveland since a double-overtime victory (122-115) on Nov. 29, 2003.

• Last season, LeBron James scored 51 points on Jan. 15, 2008 at Memphis, the third-highest total ever posted against the Grizzlies.

• Grizzlies Head Coach Marc Iavaroni was an assistant coach for the Cleveland Cavaliers under former Grizzlies Head Coach Mike Fratello for two seasons (1997-99).

• Grizzlies Assistant Head Coach Johnny Davis played two seasons for the Cavaliers (1984-86) for the Cavaliers, averaging 10.6 points and 4.6 assists in 115 games for Cleveland… Davis attended the University of Dayton (OH) and was inducted into the school’s Basketball Hall of Fame in 1993.

Is Steve Francis still injured? Or does he just not play? If he is hurt, that means they only have 2 guys on the bench, wow that would suck.

Edit: I'm an idiot

Sh*t is read it wrong thanks.

I'm confident that we'll win this. And I better hope this wouldn't be an OJ Mayo career night.

He might not even play tonight.

Mayo suffered a hip pointer in Friday night's loss to Toronto, the Associated Press reports.
Spin: He collided with the Raptors' Jason Kapono in the first quarter, but was able to finish the game, scoring 11 points on 4-of-14 shooting in 34 minutes. He has three days until the Grizzlies' next game, which should be enough time to recover.

I am going to the game. Be on the lookout for a sign with, "Get that weak stuff outta here!"

Also, it has Hi Akron and Lebron2010.com on the bottom.

Hopefully it's a Cavalier blowout and we all get to see Mr. Miles!

Rudy Gay's really looking forward to guarding LeBron tonight.

Grizzlies forward Rudy Gay sat down for the first time in nearly two hours following practice. He stared straight ahead and answered questions as if in some sort of trance. Gay's state of mind had nothing to do with physical fatigue -- but the mental wear of thinking about his next defensive assignment seemed to already be taking a toll.

"He's on another level, man," Gay said. "There are only a couple people on that level in this league."

That next-level player Gay spoke of is LeBron James, who engineers the Cleveland Cavaliers' locomotive that will ride through FedExForum tonight.

"I'm just going to try and use my quickness to try to do what I can to contain him," Gay said. "You can't stop him."

"Just being around him and from talking to him, the thing I can respect is he's never lost that hunger to get better," Gay said. "You've got to respect a guy like that. He's on top of his game."

This is a game to pull out early pound them..then play the entire bench.

That would be ideal. I just hope the Cavs start playing hard during the first half. Road wins are always an accomplishment, but if they come out flat or complacent, it could be a struggle.

Memphis has been inconsistent (and flat out bad) but they are capable of beating decent teams at home (Houston, Dallas, Miami in the last 6 weeks) and staying competitive with others (Spurs, Lakers, etc.).

I think you should take a 2nd sign for when Miles enters the game. Something like:

"Hello, Portland Front Office" or "We didn't get your e-mail, Larry Miller" :chuckles:

For more on the desperate Portland Front Office:

Everyone on our team better go after every board, because I think AV is going to struggle keeping Gasol off the offensive glass. The guy is just way to big for Andy.

EDIT: I would put Ben on him and Andy on Arthur tonight if I was MB.
