Game 48 | Cavaliers @ Pacers | January 29, 2010 | 7:00p EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I wish someone would PUNCH this McRoberts guy in the face. He's trying to act like fouling Lebron makes him look tough. Hope Lebron would just posterize his ass.

Somebody should of punched him way back in his Duke days.

Granger played crappier than Murphy tonight. Would you be pissed if we acquire him?

Jeez people, stop basing your comments about players on individual game performances.

Especially judging them based on games against the Cavs. :D

Not impressed with Troy Murphy tonight. If we end up getting him at the deadline, I'm going to be pissed.

Skimming through the posts to see if anyone else felt the same.

The guy is LAME. Don't want him.... AT ALL.

We won. Good. I hope we learn how to shoot foul shots some day.

The ShaqmeisterBeast!

Did LBJ get a triple double or not? It says on ESPN and NBA.com that he got one but apparently he didn't?

Good lord how does this Pacers team have 10 more wins that the Nets?

It is difficult to get my mind around.

They have almost nobody, actually they have NOBODY that can score in the post.

Everyone looks like a spot up shooter. And Danny Granger looks like he has twenty pound weights tied to his feet. I cant believe this guy used to be a prolific scorer off the dribble. What did he hit his athletic peak at 24 and star the decline?

A stat that strikes me is the Pacers took 5 foul shots to 44 for us. That is amazing. Does Indiana not know that you must drive to the basket if you want to win in the nba. That is amazingly bad.

I did notice a distinct lack of complaining on this forum about the officiating. :chuckles:

Statistically the Cavs are one of the toughest teams in the league defensively so it would be normal for a players stats to be down. Don't judge Troy based on this particular evening especially because the Pacers just looked scared out there as a team.

But I wonder what Murphy can really do for us that Z doesn't really provide. Its seems like its the three ball and that's about it. But Z spreads the floor inside the arc pretty in a similar fashion. Plus, I think I'd rather have Z teaming up with Shaq and AV against the Lakers than Murphy.

About two weeks I thought we'd end up with Murphy, but now I think they'd rather hit a home run with Jamison or go with what they have. Or a smaller deal that includes Wally's contract instead (or something along those lines)

... In the second round against the Celts in 2008, LeBron needed time to rest and we had no other way to get points on the board... except for Z's pick and pop and shots on the perimeter. His point scoring pulled us back in during the final stretch before the 4th quarter of game 7.

In the same way that old Z could pull and lift us when we had none else, that's what having Murphy would do. Shooting from pick and pop, some post play with backdoor layups, and rebounds. Murphy is a guy to carry a team through his shooting, except not even close to the level of Antawn would. But put him on the Cavs team, he'll look different the same way that Mo did. Defense rubs off on people when done correctly. It'll help, but you never know what happens. Murphy with Z as options would help. Murphy and Shaq, then Andy and Z.

But that's all I got. I'm sure Murphy ain't the best choice, but at least we get the pre-2006 Z out of it, almost...

Was anyone else fully nude from the end of the first quarter on?

I think a lot of it is an age thing and the team would like to make something happen with Z's contract lest it just come off the books next year and we are still at or above the cap. I personally would prefer Jamison because he adds a dimension to the team we have been lacking, but Murphy does shoot at a better clip than Z. All I was saying in my previous quote was that people shouldn't be so quick to write him off after seeing him play us; the Pacers suck and aren't playing for anything and the Cavs are a damn good team. The Cavs right now may not be built to win a title but we are more than capable of winning it as is. Danny Ferry will surely be walking this minefield very carefully and always looking ahead.
