Game 49 | Cavaliers vs. Clippers | January 31, 2010 | 6:00pm EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'd say he didn't play a tough minute in the 1st half.

So really he played only 15 minutes tonight of real basketball.

Well, if that's the way to gauge it, then he played 15 minutes more of real basketball than he had to...

It was garbage time for 3 quarters (and I wasn't that disappointed or surprised with how it turned out), but it was a game that looked like it could have been all bench players for the 4th quarter, if things had gone a bit differently.

ehh, you knew the Clippers would come out with something to prove in the 2nd half.

You knew the Cavs would go cold.

The Cavs didn't really play that hard all game.

Tuesday is going to be a great game and a challenge for this team.

After the game, they showed LeBron wearing a heavy wrap (looked like ice plus more?) on one of his hands (left hand)? Did they say anything about it? (Edit: same question as catfish)

Worst thing about tonight's game is that LeBron played 40+ minutes when it looked like he might be able to coast for a 25-30 minute night.

I remember seeing him holding his hand during the game, but I didn't see anything actually happen to him. He didn't come out of the game at the time.

Memphis is 8-15 on the road, and will be coming off a back-to-back against the Lakers. We'll see if they can make a game of it.

Randolph and Gasol did a great job beating the Cavs in the paint last game.

Conley, Mayo and Gay did a great penetrating in Memphis.

The Cavs need to attack and get Gasol and Randolph in foul trouble.

Conley and Gay scare me without Mo and Delonte. Kasol is a bear as well. Memphis is tough team without anyone hurt. Thank goodness they play LA Monday night.

Hey Mike I've got money that if they played again they would still get pounded...hows that?

Boobie could do it if he had a good day. LBJ would probably make 17 out of 13. That's just how good he is.

As the Clippers whittled the lead down, Brown avoided calling timeouts or saying much in the huddles at timeouts to see how his leaders would react.
"In the huddle they were saying the right things and it was led by LeBron," Brown said.
"When you have your team policing themselves like that and wanting to play the right way and getting on each other for not playing the right way, that's a good thing. It's going to be thick and heavy in the playoffs and our guys are going to have to figure some things out on their own, even when they're getting hit across the chin."

I really love that approach. I think that Mike Brown is really growing as a team manager. Every side bar that I've heard about him lately is an indication of this. From pulling aside Lebron and telling him that we need that kind of effort from him for 4 quarters, to letting players hold each other accountable, it just all shows he is becoming more savvy and is more aware of when his input is necessary and when it's not. I still have my gripes about him but he's looking more and more like a coach that can lead a team to a Championship.
