GAME 55 | Cavaliers @ Magic | Saturday Feb. 23 7:00 pm

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Orlando will definitely be a "Wiggins" sweepstakes finalist.

Kyrie wont get his double double since we're shitting on them :(

This has been a very encouraging game. Best team defense our starters have played in a long, long time. Not one guy in the starting unit played poorly on defense. They all competed really hard.

Have you kissed and made up with Zeller?

good game, good game. Return to the Tank begins tomorrow though............she is ready to start rolling again. Tough comes coming up.

we have a tough schedule ahead, but the team has definitely stepped up a level. In fact there are three teams maybe four playing decidedly better ball. Us, the Wiz, Toronto, and maybe Memphis. Looks like all were helped by the trades. Houston kindly loses to the Wiz, bringing us closer to a Lakers pick.

For our part, I think the combination of tougher big play with Speights, and being able to go to a big back court matchup, with Livingston, CJ and Ellington, has added a dimension to the team. Miles numbers have always been better when he is playing the two, and when he is playing with Ellington and Livingston, he is going to get that mismatch..

I have also noticed that it seems that we are starting out the first and third quarter going inside to Zeller and Gee, before we turn it outside to Kyrie and Dion. When our second squad shows up they are stretching the perimeter with both CJ and Ellington being dangerous from long, and with that same squad being pretty successful on defending.

This Squad with a healthy AV would be as good as some teams that will make the playoffs this year.

This squad would beat Milwaukee in a 7 game series, right now.

Are you serious? You do know Milwaukee just traded for JJ Redick right? /sarcasm

observations from being at the game and having lower level tickets;

1. We need more length on the perimiter. in the first half afflo just shot over dion and even Gee. to be a good defensive team we need to add a 3 that has length and plays smart defense (ironically as i am typing i realize Otto porter had the game of his life"

2. TT has to add a jumper in the worst away. defenders are backing away and just giving him a wide open 10 footer and he is forcing the drive1

3. If zeller can add 15 lbs he has a chance to be a very good 3rd or 4th big for many years! Was moving very well off the ball tonight

4. our d was very solid in the second half, but we had no defensive intensity in the first half. We need someone who has a defensive mind set who will be more vocal.

5. Irving and waiters are starting to develop chemistry.. excited to see what they look like side by side next year!

From Jason Lloyd:

* Gotta love Dick Bavetta. He called a foul on Luke Walton near the end of the game that Walton vehemently protested. Byron Scott called him over and asked if it was a foul. "I gotta be honest," Bavetta told Scott. "I have no idea." Walton cracked up relaying the story. Since the Cavs were up more than 20 and the outcome had been decided, and because Walton is one of the coolest cats in the league, he laughed it off and let it go.

Anytime you have a blowout win with your starters sitting the 4th, you gotta like what happened. It wasnt a great game for any of the guys individually but they got way more than usual from Gee, Zeller, etc. Speights had a crappy first half but came back offensively in the 2nd. I still dont like his effort on the defensive end. He seems to either go for the charge or not challenge the shot at all. Zeller on the other hand was all over the place and I think with some more experience that effort will translate into blocks and shot changes and its effort like that that makes me think Speights isn't going to be starting any time soon.

I do like how we go from a team with essentially no bench to losing AV then Boobie to injury to having a playable 5 man 2nd unit. Its kind of amazing how well Speights, Ellington, and Livingston have fit in here. So much so that Boobie cant get any PT, even over the likes of CJ Miles.

A little late checking in, but I ended up making an Orlando trip with a few work friends this weekend and caught the game last night. First things first, the Amway Center is one of the nicest NBA arenas I've ever been to. It's very modern with tons of amenities and a very friendly staff to go with it. For any of you that ever happen to be in Orlando while the Magic are in town, I'd recommend checking it out.

Anyway, after the game we checked out the Grey Goose Lounge attached to the arena and then made our way to all of the Church Street bars. As the night was winding down, I was taking a piss in one of the bars called Latitudes. As I was finishing up I heard the two guys behind me saying "there's a lot of Cavaliers fans out tonight," commenting on the Irving warm-up jersey I was wearing. His buddy followed it up with "yeah, I didn't know they represented this well."

A small compliment to take away from a fun weekend, but it was nice to see the collection of Cavs fans at the game/bars and the acknowledgment that came with it.

Noticably more Cavs gear for last night's game, versus the last time I saw them play a couple weeks ago in Orlando....despite them peddling those black Adidas Magic shirts for $10 all over the place last night lol.
