Game 61, 76ers @ Cavs, Wednesday, 18 April 2012, 7:00pm EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Oh wow. Great move by TT!

We are actually trying out there! Good for the fans who are at the Q. But better lose this one

"This doesn't mean he is going to play the rest of the season. There are still games I might sit him out still." -Byron Scott regarding Kyrie

That's what I like to hear!

Thought this was interesting... went over to Philly's RealGM board, and half the posters want Philly to lose... They are comparing their tank to our tank and shit. I'm all for tanking when you are out of it and have a legit shot at a top 5 pick... but these nut jobs want to miss the playoffs so they can draft what... 1 or 2 spots higher?

:wtf:

There was an RCF thread/poll much earlier this year that asked whether fans would want to see the Cavs make the playoffs at the 8th seed or get the 12th/13th/14th pick. I don't remember the exact results from the RCF thread, but it sounds like some 76er fans are wondering whether having a miniscule chance at a top-3 pick is better than getting swept in the first round. The 76ers would enter the lottery at the 12th slot if they miss the playoffs.

Went back and looked, and 21% of us preferred the 10th-14th pick in the lottery, 26% preferred the 7-8 seed in the playoffs, and 53% preferred tanking at all costs.

Glad we have some sense around here :chuckles:

I understand what you're saying wuck, but Philly has been holding on to a playoff spot pretty much all season. The Cavs got to sniff the playoffs briefly and then were in contention for one of the final spots for a minute, but then their season blew up.

I just don't understand why when you've been in the playoffs all season, you suddenly want to miss the playoffs? They have some really nice pieces on that team. No, they won't go further than the first round of the playoffs. If the Cavs had as much talent on their roster, had developed a nice identity thanks to a talented coach, and had been in the hunt all season for the playoffs, I would be fine with them getting into the playoffs this season.

The difference in our case is that we are in year two of a massive rebuilding project. They aren't. And they likely won't find a franchise player where they would pick in the lottery.

Thompson showing something tonight!

I wasn't defending the 76ers fans. But it sounds like they're so frustrated by the team falling apart that they have pretty much given up on their season.

The fans or the players?

Philly fans are insane.

Though I listen to their sports radio all the time in the car and I don't recall hearing anyone talking about tanking, the attitude of the callers is they want to win. They're really pissed that the season blew up. They are of course calling for the coach to be fired.
