One bad half and he is a bum now? I saw this same syndrome with Kobe and the Lakers. Everyone defers to Kobe and waits for him to take the shot. No one develops because they don't want to get on the bad side to a legend. And if someone else starts sticking out and becomes an all-star, taking Kyrie as an example, there is eventually a perceived problem . Created by the media, fans, or players involved.

It has to be a true team effort like San Antonio did in their prime, or how Golden State is doing it now. But players brought in on a trade are going to defer to LBJ, and it probably can't get fixed in 26 games. Especially when a key piece like Love is missing. And if your leader doesn't play defense and leads by example, what does that tell the new guys? Kobe was pretty worthless his last 2 years, but he was guaranteed a certain amount of shots each game even though his game had diminished. It is part of having a legend on your team. Kobe's last year wes a season long farewell tour, teams honoring him in each arena he played in, assuring the Lakers a lotto pick. LBJ has put a lot of minutes and hard bball on his body since joining the NBA. He is aging gracefully , but is now starting to take lots of plays off defensively according to the board. So whoever gets him for his next contract needs to be buyer aware. Although his offense is as good as ever, when your body says it is over your mind has no say in it. It is hard to watch the greats get old. Even though LBJ is still one of the best ballers on the planet.
