Cavs Starters
PG: George Hill 10ppg 3apg. Highly pedestrian so far. He should be much better than he is currently not sure why he is playing so slow
SG: American Falcon: 9ppg 44% 3pt. His combination of size smarts and shooting is a welcome releif from JR's combination of shrugs, defensive lapses and insane dribble drives. If Lue is smart he will crossmatch korver on to Aminu as much as possible to avoid him being destroyed by CJ's dribble pull up game
LeGOAT: 29ppg 9rpg 9apg. Has a heavy load to bear today hopefully it engages him and we see how are defense might look in the playoffs, but also just as likely he mails it in and we lose by double digits
Uncle Jeff: 10ppg 3rpg. Like my uncle he know nothing about boxing out and rebounding. Luckily for my uncle hes a retired postman so its less important to the Cavs winning this game
Larry Jr. 9ppg 7rpg: I love watching a guy play who cares about every possession and bleeds W+G. Incredibly tough matchup for him today and hopefully his hammy holds up.
Key bench contributors:
Jordan Clarkson: will attack Dame
Rodney Hood: might start if healthy
JR smith: ??
Zizic: a good litmus test for him
Jose Calderon: Victory cigar?
John Holland: Suprisingly high up the rotation
Portland starters:
DAME: 27ppg 5rpg 7apg. Playing at an MVP level on a streaking team. Tough cover for Hill
CJ: 22ppg silky smooth off the dribble. I would be putting Bron on him from the beginning as we struggle to defend these kinds of players
Turner: 8ppg 2apg Such a slappable face
Aminu: 9ppg 7rpg Spaces the floor a bit, defends excellently.
Nurkic: 14ppg 9rpg outside bet on him having 20 20 against the cavs? seems likely
Notable bench players
Mo Harkless: started last game but only 17 mins
Shabazz Napier
Zach Collins: effective rookie big guy
Ed Davis: perennial talent tease finding his groove off the bench
Pat Connaugton: shoots 15% higher in wins than losses. SHUT HIM DOWN!
Injuries:
Kev, TTop, Cedi, hell shump probably if he was still here
Adams thoughts: Tough tough game. Basically i think the cavs defensive ceiling holds the blazers to 110 points, so we need to be able to make enough 3's to get to 111 to win. Look for the cavs to keep feeding korver but the blazers as an accomplished team will actually guard him unlike the suns so we will need everyone to play with effort to stand a chance.PG: George Hill 10ppg 3apg.
