Game #75 Cleveland Cavaliers @ Washington Wizards 7:00PM EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Also, Baron Davis has had some very Baron Davis type of plays tonight. Two really, really bad defensive plays where he just gave up and at least one awful shot. Oh well, he certainly isn't alone in those two regards tonight.

In better news the Bucks are storming back against the Pacers. A win for the Bucks would be huge for us and that Clips pick.

Ramon Sessions has the lowest basketball IQ on this team.

damn, bucks and bobcats both won tonight. hopefully phoenix brings their "A" game against the clips

absolutley putrid efforts by our bigs

even AC said the wizards were playing against the Liliputians

Well when you only play three bigs the entire game and they are the no-rebounding Ryan Hollins, no-talent Luke Harangody, and no-brain JJ Hickson, I'm not really sure what else could happen.

None of those three guys are what I would consider average rebounders, much less good. I expect to get killed on the glass the rest of the season pretty much.

I expect them to at least be able to box out on the boards

My question is why? If these guys aren't good rebounders and haven't boxed out all season, how can you expect then to magically start boxing out 72 games into the season? You're just setting yourself up for disappointment if you're gonna get mad at guys doing the exact same things they have done all season.

These guys are what they are. Gody played 31 minutes for goodness sake. He's a guy that wouldn't even dress out on a good team and he played 31 minutes tonight. Ryan Hollins is another guy who wouldn't sniff the court on a contender and he was out there running around 28 minutes.

my issue isn't with Luke and less of an issue with Hollins

Hickson is the one that got killed . . .our starting PF from last year and to some here considered part of our core

If Hickson can't box or play D , he is expendable

opposing 4's have been putting up career numbers against JJ

I think JJ has until next year's all star break to show that he can be a piece to the team going forward. I am more inclined to trade JJ in this year's draft when his stock is on the upswing and we then grab another lottery pick.

with AV, Jamison, Samuels and Harangoddy on the roster , JJ IMHO is expendable . if trading him can get us a pick to draft a 2/3 I am all for it

Players that have smoked JJ as of late

Blatche 36 Pts 19 boards
Diaw 26 Pts
Humphries 18 Pts 23 boards

We need Varejão back.

And Hickson will never be anything close to an NBA Star. If you get dominated by Andray Blatche, you can't play Basketball. Plain and simple.

By the way, that was the worst game ever. Much worse than losing to the Lakers.
It's the freaking Wizards without John Wall. If you can't beat them, you can't beat anybody.

If Daniel Gibson can't hit 3's, he's not worth a single dollar of his contract.

Lets not go crazy now. Jamison is about to turn 35, is in the last year of his deal, and is obviously going to be shopped this summer (as he should). He may be off the roster come July. Harangody is a try hard guy with very limited skills on both ends of the floor. He's a good guy to have around in practice, but he would probably be the first player on the current roster I'd let go if I had to let someone go.

Samardo is a nice story and has shown solid improvement throughout the season, but did you realize statistically he's a much worse rebounder than Hickson has been this year? Samardo has a worse rebound rate as well as a lower rebound percentage. Samardo is a very good UDFA, but nothing more than that at this point. If you thought playing Hickson 35 mpg was ugly in terms of defense and rebounding, the numbers suggest it would be worse if Sam was playing that many minutes.

I'll agree with you that Varejao is a better player and plays a much more winning style of basketball than Hickson does, but he's already 28 (29 when next season starts) and he's missed at least 25 games in a season five times already. With his reckless, all-out style of play, how well is he going to age? If he is going to continue to get injured and miss 25+ games a season every year it really hurts his overall value to the franchise.

I understand Hickson is a frustrating player on the defensive end and on the glass. I know it really sucks to watch him fumble away an easy pass with his baby hands a lot of the time, but this team just generally lacks talent and I don't want to give away one of our most talented players just because he's still learning and developing his game.

Now if the Cavaliers end up drafting a power forward in the lottery, then that certainly changes things.
