Game Data: Northern Illinois at OSU

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I thought this was a good point from Mr. Bucknuts:

"Maybe youth will work to their advantage here. There’s no overlooking your first opponent when it’s the first game you have ever played! And with the two-deep as competitive as it is, there’s no letting down, or you will be sitting down."

anyone else going to be at the game today??? hopefully the weather clears up...if not, oh well. not looking forward to waiting inline to pickup my tickets tho :(

Smith to Ginn twice in the first 6 minutes..58 yarder and a 7 yarder..

We're pretty good on offense I'd say..defense looks FAST

And another to Gonzalez..21-0 with 3:15 left in the 1st..

are def shut everyone down but that midget wolf. wow that guy is good.
ohio state wont see another guy like that thank god.

michigan was not impressive at all.

We could of blew them out easily..

You could see Tressel pulling up...

We turned our offensive adjust from..

Offensive Juggernaut ---> Cleveland Browns Offense

We also fumbled twice within the five yard line. Once by our third string RB, once by our second string QB. In other words, this could of been much uglier for the Huskies than the final score showed.

Next week the season really begins. Vince Young is gone, but that's about it. From the defending national champion. In their house. :( On the bright side, a loss next week doesn't kill our national title hopes. If we lose next week but win the rest of our games, we'll be at the top of the one loss teams and have a great shot to play for it all.

Lose to the Longhorns? No way..they lost Young, their best RB as a transfer and I don't think their defense can handle us.

If we can keep the ball away from Limas Sweed they don't stand a chance..if this turns into a slugfest OSU has more firepower.

OSU deepbacks are looking real good to. they look to be good tacklers, and cover well. if N. lllinois had another running back they would have a total of aroung 140 total yards. But wolf is crazy.

style...first fumble was by chris wells

but that 2nd one was all justin zwick's fault. man that guy is terrible...

aren't you supposed to get better each year?? its amazing how much he regresses in talent each year. just make boeckman the backup please!!!!

Exactly. Our third string RB. Pittman starts, Mo Wells is the second man off the bench. Beanie the third.

I'll admit that Beanie is the better back and will eventually supplant Mo as the #2 (probably in the next few games), but right now he's RB #3.

At any rate, the point was Pittman, the veteran starter, probably doesn't drop the ball on that carry.

Yes, Beanie is the third string, I didn't mean to say that you didn't know that. My main point that the 2nd fumble within the 5-yard line was all Zwick's fault, not whichever Wells was in on that play, though I think it was Mo? EDIT: Lol, I went back and looked at your post again, and it does say second-string QB, not RB. So you were right there too. Sorry for misreading your post.

I too agree think that Chris will definitely supplant Mo for the 2nd spot. 50 yards on 10 carries...5 yards a carry. Yep, I think that would do it. Just hold on to the ball and you'll be alright.

Beanie's fumble was caused by an o-lineman being pushed back into him, right on the ball. Pittman may have hung on, but our o-line should definitely not be being pushed backwards by Northern Illinois. So I'll credit that fumble half to Beanie and half to the o-lineman that got pushed backwards.

I say we drop a close one on the road. I hope you're right.
