Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I would say the IF is bigger than the WHEN at this point. Hope I'm wrong.

But there was a possession in the 4th quarter where he had the ball on the perimeter with nothing happening and he just decided to take it to the hole. He muscled his way to the rim, shouldered his man out of the way, and got the layup. I'd like to see a little more of that from him.

He lacks confidence for sure, but that will only come with experience and an offseason or two working on his offensive game. He has time though, he is only a half year older than Mobley which is crazy to think about. Both are born the same year, he could just as easily be a one and done rookie this year like Mobley as a 2nd year player.

That’s the thing about Okoro. He has more athleticisim than anyone on the team, he should be looking to use it to his advantage more like in plays like that.

That combo of speed and strength to the level that Okoro has doesn’t grow on trees.

On one hand, I'm disappointed that he hasn't really expanded his offensive game in many ways from year 1 to 2. On the other hand, his shooting splits are up everywhere from year 1 despite a really uneven year with being in and out with minor injuries.

I'm hoping for a big change coming into year 3 with more counters off the dribble rather than a straight line drive and possibly even a floater. I think the biggest change is also a change in mindset, he needs to start taking 3s that are only semi open instead of completely open, and feel the confidence to attack his man in advantageous situations in the half court. I'm hoping that he comes back this summer much improved and JBB gradually starts to loosen the reins a bit and give him more creation reps.

A whole lot of NBA players really hate having a guy body up on them. Throws them off completely, and Okoro is just really good at crowding guys and making them uncomfortable.
I wish he could make Trae Young uncomfortable. The only guard that I can think of off the top of my head that gave him the business. But then again he wasn't allowed per refs to body him up that day.

You can include Mobley and JA in that group. But I see progress and they're working on it. They have a ways to go.

I wanted Okoro switch to happen. Why? Because there was no one longer than Mobley to defend Kuzma… the issue wasn’t length it was separation. Kuzma was just too good at getting separation on our bigs our last hope was Okoro sticking with him and making him shoot with someone essentially under him not letting him get comfortable or to a spot
Another was nobody made an effort to deny him the ball. We just let him have free rein of the court and run free all day! When a man is killing you like Kuzma was…..you take the ball out of his hands…..either by doubling or making the extra effort to deny him the ball (which the latter won’t happen because players today don’t want to expend that much energy of defense)
